Abstract: A suspension member includes a side rail. The side rail is formed in a closed sectional structure by combining an upper member, a lower member, and a reinforcing member located between the upper member and the lower member. The upper member and the reinforcing member are fixed by welding and form a closed cross section having an upper hollow portion. The reinforcing member and the lower member are fixed by welding and form a closed cross section having a lower hollow portion. A distance from an upper end to a lower end of the upper hollow portion in a vertical direction in the lower bending portion is longer than that in the upper bending portion, and a distance from an upper end to a lower end of the lower hollow portion in the vertical direction in the upper bending portion is longer than that in the lower bending portion.

Abstract: A structural member 10 includes a hat member 1 and a closing plate 2. The length LY of the tubular portion formed by the hat member 1 and the closing plate 2 is 6 or more times the height H of a pair of side walls 11 and 12. Each of the side walls 11 and 12 includes a high-strength portion 11A or 12A and low-strength portions 11B or 12B. The high-strength portion has a yield strength not less than 500 MPa. The low-strength portions have a yield strength of 60 to 85% of that of the high-strength portion. Each high-strength portion extends a distance not less than (⅔)H and not more than 3H as measured in the direction in which the ridges extend, and is provided such that the high-strength portions of the pair of side walls face each other. A pair of low-strength portions sandwich the associated high-strength portion.

Abstract: A vehicle body structure includes an inner sill member, an outer sill member and a first reinforcement bracket. Abstract: A powered side panel system is used in conjunction with a loading bed found on trailers and other flatbed vehicles. The system includes a side panel having a vertical member. The side panel is configured to pivot about a panel axis in communication with the trailer. A lever arm extends between the side panel and the trailer. The system includes a reciprocating assembly to operate the lever arm between a lowered and raised orientation. The reciprocating assembly communicates with the lever arm through a cable. The lever arm controls the rate of radial motion of the side panel about the panel axis. A control unit is configured to regulate the operation of the actuator device.
