Abstract:
A face conveyor includes a continuous conveyor formed by a conveyor chain with entrainment plates that are connected to chain links and which, when conveying, circulates in an outward run and a return run, each of which are guided in trough portions by trough elements, which are arranged in a row. Guides provided on each trough element include a first guide on a working face side and a second guide at a spacing from a goaf side. The first guide on the working face side is secured on the trough element between the outward run and the return run. The outward run and the return run extend in a laterally offset manner with respect to each other, and the trough portion guiding the entrainment plates in the outward run is open on the working face side.
Abstract:
A support structure for drive or reversing stations of conveyor or extraction devices in underground mining is described. The support structure has a substructure and an articulated support which may be configured to be vertically adjustable relative thereto by means of a lifting device. At least one spacer element is provided which is configured to be installed between the substructure and the articulated support. A lifting device has two pairs of lifting cylinders whose lifting cylinders are arranged diagonally opposite one another in corner areas of the articulated support and can be actuated in pairs, and that as the spacer element for a lifting stage at least four, preferably six, distance members are provided of which two in each case are placeable in pairs underneath the pair of lifting cylinders which is not loaded during a lifting process.
Abstract:
A mining machine for cutting material from a mine wall includes a cutting head that is movable to engage the mine wall, a vacuum duct positioned proximate the cutting head and including an inlet for receiving the material that is cut from the mine wall, and a sizer for reducing the size of material that passes into the vacuum duct, the sizer being positioned proximate the inlet.
Abstract:
A continuous miner includes a mining portion, a support frame connected to the mining portion, and a discharge portion pivotally attached to the support frame. The discharge portion swings laterally relative to the support frame about a pivot axis. The continuous miner also includes a conveyor extending across the support frame and discharge portion. The conveyor moves mined material from the mining portion to the discharge portion. The conveyor includes a conveyor chain, a rear roller, and a front roller. The continuous miner also includes a conveyor drive system for driving the conveyor chain. The conveyor drive system is located on a bottom surface of the continuous miner and between the rear roller and the front roller.
Abstract:
A trough pan with an upper strand trough and to an upper strand trough for a trough pan of a scraper chain conveyor, with two side profiles, and with a trough bottom. The trough bottom has two side edges and two end edges which have at least partially a wavy boundary line and which are provided at the transition of a top side into the end edge with a chamfer having a chamfer angle. In order to improve the upper strand troughs and the trough pans equipped with these in terms of the problem of the penetration of fine coal into the intermediate gap of the bearing region between the trough bottom and intermediate bottom, the end edges are provided with a bevel between the chamfer and an underside, the bevel sloping more steeply than the chamfer.
Abstract:
A material extraction system is provided for an underground mine. The mine includes a roadway entry and a draw-bell entry intersecting the roadway entry and affording access to a draw-bell. The system generally includes a loader movable from the roadway entry into the draw-bell entry for removing material from the draw-bell, a sizer coupled to the loader for sizing the removed material, and a material collector operable to collect the sized material. The material collector places the sized material at a substantially elevated position relative to a mine floor. A shuttle car is operable to receive the collected material from the material collector. The shuttle car is movable along the roadway entry for transferring the collected material so as to facilitate a substantially continuous extraction of the material.
Abstract:
A transfer station for transfer of material from a longwall face to a gate or roadway of a mine working employs a box frame in which the two runs of a scraper-chain face and gate conveyors intersect. A driving drum for the face conveyor is mounted in a housing in the box frame. A baffle plate cover in the form of a pivotal flap which can be locked in the closed position is arranged on an end face of the housing receiving the chain drum. The pivotal flap preferably consists of two flap doors which can be hinged outwardly on opposing sides so that the chain drum is accessible from the exterior.
Abstract:
Improvement in a bucket-equipped loading machine, particularly a so-called wheel loader, having at one end of the machine a loading bucket which is supported for raising and lowering movements by a pair of lift arms, journalled in the machine, and which is pivotally connected with the free ends of said arms and lockable in position relative thereto. In order to allow an improved weight distribution of such a machine when loaded and hence reduced wear and simultaneously increased relative load capacity it is suggested according to the invention that at the side (13) of the bucket (6) facing the machine said bucket is at least partly open and connected with a rear bucket portion (14) which is located between the lift arms and which extends in between the wheels (7) of the adjacent wheel axle (2) of the machine and preferably in over said axle and in that said rear bucket portion (14) is separately pivotably and lockably connected with the lift arms (8) on an axis (15) parallel to the pivot axis (9) of the load bucket (2), the lift arms (8) furthermore being curved downwardly-forwardly and adapted to form a support during loading and transport to the rear portion (14) of the bucket resting thereon and having a corresponding curved shape.
Abstract:
A variable length conveyor assembly for use in the continuous underground mining of coal. The conveyor assembly comprises a base from which are adapted to extend a plurality of telescoping support elements. The support elements carry belt supporting members at the upper surfaces thereof and a plurality of longitudinal supports at the side surfaces thereof. The longitudinal supports, in turn, carry a plurality of rollers. An endless belt is supported by the belt supporting members and the rollers. Drive elements are located in the base for the endless belt. Cable rollers are associated with the support elements for purposes of receiving a control cable which is threaded through the cable rollers. Cable drive elements are positioned in the base which are adapted to move the control cable in a manner to selectively expand and contract the conveyor assembly. In alternate embodiments of the invention, the telescoping support elements are moved inwardly and outwardly by hydraulic rams or, alternately, chain drives.
Abstract:
A conveyor is composed of a series of L-shaped sections arranged end-to-end to define a conveying floor surface with a side wall at one side opposite the mineral face so as to allow material to fall onto the floor surface. The side wall has a slot or gap therein through which extends entrainment devices capable of extending across the floor surface or being stowed inwards towards the side wall. Where the conveyor is constructed as a shuttle conveyor the entrainment devices are allowed to pivot automatically between these alternate positions as they are driven back and forth along the floor surface by a reciprocating traction means. The traction means runs outside the side wall and the devices are pivotably mounted to the traction means which preferably also performs a guide function.
