Abstract:
A monocontrol mechanism for magnetic tape recorders wherein a lever is movable lengthwise and is pivotable in a universal joint which is mounted in a sealed housing. The lever can be depressed by hand against the opposition of a spring to thereby disengage a portion thereof from the locking device in the housing and to be thereupon pivotable between a number of predetermined positions against the opposition of an indexing device which is designed to yieldably hold the lever in any selected predetermined position. Once the pressure upon the lever is terminated, the spring is free to expand and reengages the lever with the locking device. The lever can actuate one or more electric switches, gears, links and/or other controlled units in the housing during movement to or from the predetermined positions.
Abstract:
A multidirectional lever actuated self neutralizing switch having a base comprising a tapered pin which extends into a recess provided in one end of the lever, the angular relationship between the tapered surface of the pin and the surface of the recess when the switch is in an off position being predetermined to define the maximum degree to which the lever can be pivoted about the pin to cause the lower surface of an actuator plate affixed to the lever to actuate a self-restoring switch when the lever is so pivoted. The upper surface of the actuator plate is juxtaposed on a leaf spring when the switch is in the ''''off'''' position. Subsequent to the actuation of a switch and the termination of the juxtaposition of the spring vis-a-vis the plate by pivoting the lever; that is, when the lever is released, the pressure exerted on the plate by the spring causes the lever to resume its off position and the upper surface of the actuator plate to again be juxtaposed on the spring.
Abstract:
An operating arm pivotably movable selectively in opposite directions along two mutually-perpendicular paths of movement about an intermediate pivot point drives a sliding cam for operating linear reciprocative operators of a plurality of selfrestoring switches by means of translating pins.
Abstract:
In a joystick control switch having an operating lever rotatable about a point intermediate the length of the lever, the lever is positively indexable in each of a plurality of positions of rotation by means of a collar slidably mounted on the lever and resiliently biased into engagement with a gate member defining the plurality of positions of rotation, and in each of the plurality of positions of rotation the lever operates a depressible-plunger-type switch by contact of the lever with the plunger either directly or through the intermediary of a single lever member. A button located in one end of the lever is depressible to slide a shaft extending longitudinally of the lever to depress the plunger of an additional switch at the other end of the lever, in one position of rotation of the lever.
