摘要: A sound-absorbing noise barrier, more specifically to one comprising: a main body which has a front surface and a rear surface and extends horizontally and in which a space is formed between the front surface and the rear surface; and a sound-absorbing material which is accommodated in the space of the main body and is disposed at a distance away from the front surface and the rear surface respectively, wherein the front surface of the main body is formed with vertically oriented alternating projections and recesses and is formed with a plurality of sound-absorbing holes, and the overall cross-sectional area of the sound-absorbing holes is at least 20% of the cross-sectional area of the front surface. The sound-absorbing noise barrier of the present invention can be variously employed in construction and industrial products, has good sound-absorbing characteristics across a wide frequency range, and can present an aesthetically appealing external effect.

摘要: A room acoustic diffuser exploits interference, by reflecting waves out-of-phase with the specular energy, making it possible to diminish specular energy. This is achieved by using a diffuser based on a ternary sequence, which nominally has reflection coefficients of 0, −1 and +1. A method for obtaining the design sequence for Quaternary diffusers is also disclosed. Also, design methods for forming the sequences into arrays, and forming hemispherical diffusers are explained.

摘要: A sound absorbing hollow core panel of structural material based on Helmholtz resonator properties consisting of two exterior skins connected by spacers or structural connections and bounded by perimeter skins or structural connections with internal cavity or cavities that communicate with the exterior sound field through a plurality of orifices in one or both exterior skins as well as the perimeter of the panel and that have a plurality of Helmoltz resonators of different shapes and sizes tuned to specific frequencies that control the sound absorption characteristics of the hollow core panel. The internal cavity or cavities are defined by external skins and perimeters as well as internal structural elements acting as interior dividers, interior sub-volumes and perimeter structures, each of which may contain a plurality of orifices for sound communication forming a sequence of first order Helmholtz acoustical resonators with respective natural frequencies for sound absorption. Panels may be assembled with or without selected interior elements or perimeter structures as a basis for infinite flexibility in building sound absorbing walls of selectable sound absorbing characteristics and size. The numbers and geometries of the orifices as well as the sizes of the internal cavities may be varied generally, thus adding to the flexibility of the invention. Sound dissipating material may also be incorporated in the cavities of the panel.

摘要: A sound absorbing panel (1) is disclosed having several grooves (3a,3b) opening in the shape of a funnel in parallel opposite surfaces. At their intersections the grooves (3a, 3b) form relatively small holes. The grooves (3a, 3b) exhibit a funnel-shaped cross-section, as a result of which sound emerging behind the panel (1) is dissipated and effectively absorbed in a backing layer consisting, for example, of fiber glass. The panel (1) is flexible and reflects incident light well.

摘要: A structure that is preferably constructed in sheet form and that provides improved sound attenuation with a relatively small thickness. The materials comprising the structure include a myriad of hollow glass microspheres interspersed, preferably by a blending process, into a curable resin base. Improved acoustic attenuation is provided by employing microspheres of the type containing a vacuum and selecting a resin base that has good flexure qualities and is relatively soft with a relatively low indentation hardness.
