Abstract:
Use of a starting solution to form a plurality of filler elements in a composite, wherein the starting solution includes a miscible solution of at least one protein and at least one further compound, with the plurality of filler elements being formed from the at least one further compound. This starting solution enables further materials imparting different properties to be incorporated into the extruded proteins. A method of forming a composite material containing a plurality of filler elements is described, in which the starting solution is induced to separate into a bulk phase and a minor phase. Such method can be carried out in an apparatus having a storage compartment for the starting material, and a phase separation compartment in which the protein and the further compound of the composite forming mixture are phase separated into a bulk material containing a plurality of filler elements.
Abstract:
In one embodiment, the systems and methods detect a data file wherein the data file includes archived content utilized during a collaboration session; select a portion of the archived content within the data file based on a search term; and identify additional content utilized during the collaboration session that is associated with the portion of the archived content.
Abstract:
An apparatus for the storage of a protein (20) comprising a first compartment (30) for storing the protein (20) and a second compartment (40) for storing an alkaline buffer (50), the second compartment (40) being in fluid communication with the first compartment (30) is described. In one preferential embodiment of the invention, the alkaline buffer comprises calcium ions which encourage the gelling of the protein (20). A method for the storage of a protein (20) is also described. The method comprises: a first step of placing the protein in a first storage compartment (30); a second step of exposing the protein (20) to an alkaline buffer (50); and a third step of maintaining the protein (20) in the alkaline atmosphere in the first storage compartment (30).

Abstract:
A device for racking 15 regulation billiard balls includes a frame of substantially equilateral triangular shape having a forward apex and an oppositely located rear wall which pivotably supports an elongated compression plate adapted to be forced manually upon the rearward row of balls confined within the frame. The compression plate applies a downward and forward force upon the rearward row of balls, causing all the balls to be driven toward the forward apex in intercontacting relationship. The frame is dimensioned such that, when the balls are forwardly driven, a clearance space is formed between the rearward row of balls and the back wall. The clearance space permits slight forward movement of the device during its removal from the balls.
