Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A first device may transmit, from a first antenna of a first antenna array of the first device to a second antenna of a second antenna array of a second device, a first set of reference signals. The first device may transmit, from a first plurality of antennas of the first antenna array to a second plurality of antennas of the second antenna array, a second plurality of reference signals. The first device may receive, from the second device, an indication based at least in part on a linear offset and one or more rotational offsets estimated by the second device associated with the first set of reference signals and the second plurality of reference signals. The first device may communicate with the second device using the first antenna array based on the indication.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive, from a network entity, a request to report one or more frequency corrections, the request including an indication of one or more reporting parameters for the one or more frequency corrections. The network entity may transmit a set of one or more reference signals associated with performing the one or more frequency corrections at the UE. The UE may monitor for the set of one or more reference signals and transmit, to the network entity, a report indicating the one or more frequency corrections in accordance with the one or more reporting parameters. The UE may transmit the report according to a periodicity, according to a trigger, or both indicated in the one or more reporting parameters. The network entity may perform channel estimations based on the report indicating the one or more frequency corrections.

Abstract: Aspects relate to analog-to-digital conversion of an analog signal. The resolution (number of bits) and/or the quantization levels of the analog-to-digital conversion may be configurable. A device may configure its analog-to-digital conversion parameters. For example, a first device may reduce the number of bits for its analog-to-digital converter to reduce power consumption. In this case, the first device may transmit an indication of selected analog-to-digital conversion parameters to a second device that will transmit to the first device. In this way, the second device may take appropriate action, if needed. A device may request another device to use certain analog-to-digital conversion parameters. For example, a first device may determine that a second device should use a larger number of bits for its analog-to-digital conversion process to improve the quality of the communication between the first and second devices.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A receiving device and a transmitting device may utilize index modulation for full-duplex operations. The transmitting device, such as a base station or a user equipment (UE), may define blocks of resource elements (REs) for transmissions. The transmitting device may then transmit a power boosted index modulated signal at a data RE location within a resource allocation and may skip transmitting within the remaining REs of the resource allocation. The transmitting device may indicate the number of REs per RE block to the receiving device (e.g., a UE). The receiving device may use this information to perform energy detection for determining which REs within an RE block include the power boosted index modulated transmission and which REs within the RE block are empty REs. In some cases, the receiving device may use the empty REs for performing noise estimation.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station and a user equipment (UE) may perform dynamic rank assignment in multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) communications by leveraging channel reciprocity. For example, the base station and the UE may apply a common algorithm to enable dynamic rank assignment of allocated frequency resources within a communication slot. In some examples, at least one threshold may be utilized to assign different ranks to different frequency resources. Additionally or alternatively, a number of frequency resources assigned a lower rank may be indicated between the base station and the UE in accordance with a joint criteria. Further, dynamic rank assignment may allow the base station and the UE to account for channel fading, improving throughput over the channel without increasing signaling overhead.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a first network node may transmit a first signal using a first antenna of the antenna array, the antenna array having a plurality of antennas that are arranged along a curved structure, wherein the curved structure is convex in a direction opposite a transmission direction, and wherein the first antenna is located at a first position on the curved structure so that the first signal has a first aperture with respect to the lens. The first network node may transmit a second signal using a second antenna of the plurality of antennas, wherein the second antenna is located at a second position on the curved structure so that the second signal has a second aperture with respect to the lens. Numerous other aspects are described.
