Abstract: The apparatus determines, for a CC, an active TCI state of at least one of a CORESET of a PDCCH when the CORESET is configured on the CC or a PDSCH. In addition, the apparatus determines, based on the determined active TCI state, a default beam on the CC for transmitting at least one of a PUCCH or SRS. Further, the apparatus transmits at least one of the PUCCH or the SRS through the determined default beam on the CC.

A method that may be performed by a user equipment (UE) includes monitoring one or more reference signals for beam failure detection for a plurality of component carriers (CCs), detecting a beam failure for a subset of one or more CCs of the plurality of CCs based on the one or more reference signals, generating a beam failure recovery request (BFRQ) indicating that a beam failure has occurred for the plurality of CCs in response to the detection of the beam failure for the subset of one or more CCs, and transmitting the BFRQ.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may transmit a beam failure recovery scheduling request (BFR-SR) to a primary cell or a primary secondary cell base station based at least in part on detecting a beam failure associated with a secondary cell (SCell) link between the UE and an SCell base station. The UE may start a timer based at least in part on transmitting the BFR-SR. The UE may retransmit the BFR-SR based at least in part on the timer expiring prior to the UE receiving a response to acknowledge the BFR-SR and schedule transmission of a medium access control (MAC) control element (MAC-CE) including information to recover from the beam failure and/or the timer expiring prior to the UE transmitting the MAC-CE. Abstract: Systems and methods establishing and maintain a direct User Equipment to User Equipment communication link are disclosed. A User Equipment (UE) may receive a Sounding Reference Signal (SRS) from a neighboring UE. The UE may determine from the SRS that the UE is a good candidate for a direct link. The UE may also determine from the SRS an ID associated with the neighboring UE. The UE may send a direct link request to the UE serving gNB. The serving gNB may forward the request to a gNB serving the neighboring UE. The gNBs may negotiate a joint schedule for a beam a UE to UE beam search. The beam search may be conducted using SRS resources. The results of the beam search may be sent to the gNB and the gNB may determine a beam pair for a direct link.

The first and second UE may perform the beam search and report the result to the gNB. The gNB may determine the appropriate beam for the first and second UE to establish a communication link.
