Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may identify a set of carriers within a frequency band for communicating with a base station via either carrier aggregation or dual connectivity. The UE may determine that a first parameter for communications over a first carrier exceeds a threshold with respect to corresponding parameters of other carriers, the first parameter being either a downlink reception parameter or an uplink transmission parameter. The UE may refrain from communicating over the first carrier based at least in part on the first parameter exceeding the threshold.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In one example, a user equipment (UE) may be configured to receive a control message scheduling a multicast transmission, and the UE may identify an open loop power control parameter for transmitting acknowledgment feedback responsive to the multicast transmission. The identification of the open loop power control parameter may be based on the transmission being multicast to a plurality of UEs, and in some cases a UE may identify an open loop power control parameter that is different than an open loop power control parameter associated with feedback responsive to unicast transmissions. In various examples, open loop power control parameters may correspond to respective feedback resources (e.g., according to a configuration for a set of open loop power control parameters), or to respective physical resource indicators (e.g., as signaled in downlink control information).

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A set of reference signal resources that are configured for sounding reference signal transmissions may be shared among user equipments (UEs) that are enabled to receive multicast communications. Each of the shared set of reference signal resources may be associated with set(s) of channel state information. UEs may measure a multicast channel to determine channel state information for the multicast channel and transmit sounding reference signals over one of the shared reference signal resources that is associated with the set of channel state information determined by the UE. A base station that receives the sounding reference signal may transmit a subsequent multicast transmission for the UEs using transmission parameters that are adapted for the set(s) of channel state information associated with the occupied sounding reference signal resource.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A communication device, otherwise known as a user equipment (UE) may receive signaling indicating a set of multicast configurations for a set of multicast modes supported by the UE. Each multicast mode of the set of multicast modes may be associated with one or more radio resource control (RRC) states. The UE may determine a multicast configuration of the set of multicast configurations based on an RRC state according to which the UE is operating. The UE may receive, while operating according to the RRC state, multicast data according to the determined multicast configuration.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may identify a maximum transmission power for an uplink transmission on a first cell of a first cell group (CG) based on a direction of communications (e.g., uplink, downlink, or flexible) with a separate cell of a second CG during a same duration of the uplink transmission and within a same first frequency range, where the direction of communications is either an actual direction or an assumed direction. The UE may receive an uplink grant scheduling the uplink transmission during a symbol and within the first frequency range, determine the maximum transmission power for the UE based on the direction of communications for the separate cell during the symbol and within the first frequency range, and subsequently transmit the uplink transmission in accordance with the maximum transmission power.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive a first rate matching resource indication that indicates that a first rate matching resource is available for use by the UE in reception of a downlink shared channel. The UE may also receive a second rate matching resource indication that indicates that a second rate matching resource is not available for use by the UE in reception of the downlink shared channel. The UE may identify a rate matching resource indication conflict arising from an overlap of at least one resource element included in both the first rate matching resource and the second rate matching resource. The UE may then resolve the rate matching resource indication conflict in accordance with a conflict resolution rule.

The UE may receive, in accordance with a first SPS configuration, a group-common transmission of a group-common downlink shared channel, the group-common transmission being associated with a first RNTI. The UE may transmit feedback information for the group-common transmission. The UE may then receive a downlink control information (DCI) message scheduling either a group-common retransmission of the group-common downlink shared channel or a unicast retransmission of the group-common downlink shared channel. The DCI may indicate that either the group-common retransmission is associated with the first RNTI or that the unicast retransmission is associated with a second RNTI that may be different from the first RNTI.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station may transmit a downlink control information (DCI) message to one or more user equipments (UEs) scheduling a multicast data message in a multicast downlink shared channel, the DCI message indicating a feedback process identifier (ID) for the multicast data message. The base station may transmit an additional DCI message to a UE scheduling a retransmission of the multicast data message in a unicast downlink shared channel and indicating a feedback process ID for the retransmission of the multicast data message. The feedback process ID for the retransmission may be the same as, or different from, the initial transmission of the multicast data message. The UE may transmit feedback for the multicast data message based on receiving the initial transmission of the multicast data or the retransmission of the multicast data and the feedback process IDs.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described, that provide for configuration and switching between multiple groups of search space sets based on activated serving cells or activated resources for one or more serving cells. An access network entity may configure multiple groups of search space sets, and a user equipment (UE) may monitor for control information in an activated search space set group. A first group of search space sets may be activated based on a serving cell being activated, and the UE may switch to a second group of search space sets when the serving cell is deactivated. Search space set group switching also may be performed based on one or more activated bandwidth parts (BWPs). An access network entity may trigger search space set group switching using explicit signaling, based on cell activation/deactivation, based on a timer, or any combinations thereof.
