Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide methods and apparatus for enabling an immediate response. In this manner, issues can be avoided where data carried by the last symbol of a frame cannot be entirely decoded by a receiver within a deadline for generating an immediate response. One example method for wireless communications by a first apparatus generally includes determining at least one constraint for communicating with a second apparatus; generating a frame that solicits a response; and outputting the frame for transmission to the second apparatus, wherein at least a last symbol of the frame is transmitted in a manner determined by the constraint to allow the second apparatus to transmit the response within a determined period.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to immediate response resource allocation with physical (PHY) layer and medium access control (MAC) layer signaling. Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide an apparatus for wireless communications. The apparatus generally includes a first interface configured to obtain a first frame having a PHY header and a MAC payload and a processing system configured to determine, based on an indication provided in the PHY header of the first frame, that a response frame to the first frame is to be sent within a time period. This may enable the apparatus to start generating and transmitting an immediate response before decoding the MAC payload.

Abstract: Access points communicate via a discovery channel. For example, access points may transmit at a higher transmit power and at a lower rate on the discovery channel than on operating channels. In this way, the radio frequency range of the discovery channel is longer than the range of any of the operating channels. Consequently, a particular access point can communicate with and thereby account for other access points that the particular access point might not hear via an operating channel.

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may transmit a capability message indicating that the UE is capable of perception with respect to a surrounding environment. The UE may receive, based at least in part on the capability message, a configuration for reporting perception information. The UE may transmit, based at least in part on the configuration, an environment awareness report that indicates the perception information. Numerous other aspects are described.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A station (STA) may receive a null data packet (NDP) on a plurality of subcarriers, and the STA may generate a channel state information (CSI) matrix for each subcarrier of the plurality of subcarriers. After generating a CSI matrix for a subcarrier, such as at least one subcarrier, the STA may scale each value in the CSI matrix using a power-of-two value to minimize complexity. Specifically, instead of scaling each value in the CSI matrix to a value between zero and one using divisions (for example, which may be computationally expensive), the STA may use shifting to scale each value in the CSI matrix. The STA may then quantize the scaled values in the CSI matrix for reporting, and the STA may transmit the quantized, scaled values in the CSI matrix in a CSI report.
