Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to determining channel state information (CSI) on a component carrier. In an example operation, a device determines a mapping between first time-frequency resources corresponding to a first component carrier (CC) and second time-frequency resources corresponding to a second CC using a prediction algorithm. The device receives, from a base station, a channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS) on the first time-frequency resources corresponding to the first CC and measures first CSI on the first time-frequency resources corresponding to the first CC based on the received CSI-RS. The device further predicts second CSI on the second time-frequency resources corresponding to the second CC based on the measured first CSI using the prediction algorithm. The device then generates a CSI report based on the predicted second CSI and sends the CSI report to the base station.

In one aspect, a UE receives, from a network entity, an indication of frequency hopping with zero frequency offset. The UE determines whether phase continuity is to be applied to UL transmissions based on the indication of the frequency hopping with zero frequency offset. The UE transmits, to the network entity, at least one uplink channel with no phase continuity based on the determination to not apply phase continuity to the UL transmissions.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive control signaling from a network node indicating a reference signal (RS) configuration for RS measurements. The RS configuration may indicate a first set of beams, a first periodicity for measuring RSs on the first set of beams, a second set of beams, and a second periodicity for measuring RSs on the second set of beams. The UE may monitor a wireless channel for a first set of RSs communicated via the first set of beams according to the first periodicity and monitor the wireless channel for a second set of RSs communicated via the second set of beams according to the second periodicity. The UE and the network node may dynamically update one or more of the beam sets, periodicities, or both, to perform RS measurements.

Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for random access procedures and beam refinement for wireless communications. A base station may repeat a transmission of a random access message 2 to a user equipment (UE) on a plurality of physical downlink control channel (PDDCH) candidates to improve reception of the random access message 2 and provide for selection of a refined beam. The UE may receive the random access message 2 on the plurality of repeated PDCCH candidates during a random access response window. The UE may select an offset based on a strongest of the plurality of PDCCH candidates. The UE may transmit a random access message 3 on resources indicated by the random access message 2 that are time shifted by the offset. The base station may select a beam for transmitting a random access message 4 based on the offset.

The method generally includes selecting multiple transmission reception points (TRPs) of a plurality of TRPs to form a group of TRPs based on information indicative of relative positions between a user equipment (UE) and each of the plurality of TRPs such that the relative positions between the UE and the multiple TRPs satisfy a criteria. Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described for scheduled communications in which multiple different communication instances are scheduled between a user equipment (UE) and a base station. Different communication parameters for different communication instances may be selected based on reported channel conditions between the UE and the base station. Subsequent to a report of channel conditions results in chanced communication parameters, the UE may blind decode a one or more scheduled communications using multiple candidate sets of decoding hypotheses to identify a first candidate set of decoding parameters that is used for the first scheduled communication. Such techniques provide that communication parameters may be adjusted based on channel conditions, and a UE may decode a communication in the event that the base station does not successfully receive a measurement report and continues transmissions using a prior set of parameters.
