    摘要: In a torque converter, by devising a structure of a stator support mechanism, an axial dimension of a radially inner portion of the torque converter and surroundings thereof is reduced. The torque converter (1) includes a front cover (2), an impeller (3), a turbine (4), a stator (5) that regulates fluid flow from the turbine (4) to the impeller (3), and a stator support mechanism (6) that supports the stator (5) to be rotatable only in one direction relative to a fixed shaft. The stator support mechanism (6) includes an annular retainer (61) arranged on an engine side of a stator hub (52), an annular outer race (64) arranged at a radially inner portion of the stator hub (52), an annular first thrust bearing (66) arranged on a transmission side of the stator hub (52), and an annular second thrust bearing (67) arranged on the engine side of the stator hub (52) and at a radially outer portion of the outer race (64).

    摘要: A flexible flywheel is a member to which torque is input from a crankshaft 91 of the engine and includes a first flywheel 2 and a damper mechanism 4. The first flywheel 2 includes an inertia member 13, and a flexible plate 11 for connecting the inertia member 13 with the crankshaft 91. The flexible plate is flexibly deformable in the bending direction. The damper mechanism 4 includes an input-side disc-like plate 20 to which torque is input from the crankshaft 91, output plates 32 and 33 located rotatable relative to the input-side disc-like plate 20, and coil springs 34, 35, and 36 to be compressed in the rotational direction when both the plates rotate relative to each other. The first flywheel 2 can move relative to the damper mechanism 4 in the bending direction with a limited range.

A release device 10 releases the bias toward the frictional connection portion 54 by applying a load to the clutch cover assembly 8 in an axial direction toward the engine. A support plate 39 elastically supports the second flywheel assembly 5 such that the second flywheel assembly 5 can move in a bending direction. A bending direction movement suppression mechanism 24 suppresses bending movement of the second flywheel 5 by connecting the second flywheel assembly 5 to a disk-like member 13 when the clutch cover assembly 8 receives a load toward the engine in the axial direction.

    摘要: A damper disc assembly 42 is provided to reduce the number of components in the torque converter. The damper disc assembly 42 absorbs and dampens torsional vibration as well as transmits torque, and includes a driven member 53, a drive member 52, torsion springs 54, and a friction generation mechanism 71. The drive member 52 includes a pair of plate members 56 and 57 fixed to each other. Each of the plate members 56 and 57 is located on either axial side of the driven member 53 to be rotatable relative to the driven member 53. The torsion springs 54 connect the driven member 53 and the drive member 52 in the rotational direction. The friction generation mechanism 71 generates friction when the driven member 53 and the drive member 52 rotate relative to each other. An urging force that is an elastic force of at least one of the plate members 56 and 57 is applied to a friction surface of the friction generation mechanism 71.

A frictional resistance generating mechanism 7 generates a frictional resistance while each spring is being compressed. Owing to a rotating-direction space 79, the frictional resistance generating mechanism 7 does not operate in the second stage of the torsion characteristics and also does not in the first stage while a torsion angle is in a predetermined range.

The piston coupling mechanism 76 of the lockup device 7 functions to couple the piston 75 to the front cover 11 such that it rotate integrally with the front cover 11 while being movable in the axial direction. The piston coupling mechanism 76 has a piston lug plate 83, a cover lug plate 84, and a return plate 85. The piston lug plate 83 and the cover lug plate 84 mate in such a manner that they can move in the axial direction but cannot rotate relative to each other. The return plate 85 can apply an axial force against the piston 75 directed toward the transmission and can also limit the axial movement of the piston 75 toward the transmission.
