Abstract: An apparatus includes a top portion and a middle portion. The top portion includes an inlet for receiving peat moss. A feeding mechanism delivers the peat moss from the top portion to the middle portion. A compression mechanism housed in the middle portion includes at least one roller assembly for at least partially dewatering the peat moss. The roller assembly can include upper and lower rollers. Peat moss passing between the rollers can be pressed to reduce moisture content of the peat moss. The lower roller can include perforations allowing moisture to drain away from the peat moss. Speeds of rotation of the rollers and/or a distance between the rollers can be adjustable. A bottom portion underneath the middle portion can include an outlet for discharging the peat moss.

Abstract: At peat mining peat is suspended in water to a slurry or suspension which is led to a dewatering plant. From the dewatering plant (13) return water is returned and used to heat the raw peat in connection with the mining area. The return water can be spread onto the moss over an area (11) at a suitable distance from the mining pit (2), thereby at least partially displacing the moss water and providing water for making a slurry, the moss water preferably being drained to the mining pit. The return water contains also a separated fine parts fraction of the peat as well as peat ash and/or other chemicals which break down the colloidal bonds of the peat and which preferably also raise the pH-value of the water which is drained into the mining pit together with said fine parts fraction.

Abstract: An autonomous earth moving system can determine a desired state for a portion of the EMV including at least one control surface. Then the EMV selects a set of control signals for moving the portion of the EMV from the current state to the desired state using a machine learning model trained to generate control signals for moving the portion of the EMV to the desired state based on the current state. After the EMV executes the selected set of control signals, the system measures an updated state of the portion of the EMV. In some cases, this updated state of the EMV is used to iteratively update the machine learning model using an online learning process.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a peat machine for connection to a tractor or a corresponding power source. The piece peat machine is provided with a digging means for digging peat and a pressure screw for digged peat. In order to improve the production capacity and to reduce the power demand, the pressure screw is conically shaped so that its diameter diminishes towards the outlet nozzles. In addition, the thread of the pressure screw is, at the end facing the digging means, substantially at right angles to the shaft of the screw or inclined forwards towards the outlet nozzles. At the outlet nozzles, the thread is inclined backwards towards the digging means.
