Abstract: A hoist lifting system having planning and monitoring of components. The system monitors one or more components and may have a processing structure and memory storing instructions to configure the processing structure to: receive hoist machine data; determine a rotation speed of a bearing, a travel speed of a rope, a load on the bearing, a friction in the at least one bearing based on the hoist machine data; and store the rotation speed, the travel speed, the load, and the friction in a maintenance database in memory. The hoist lifting system may have the processing structure determine a wear of one or more components.

Abstract: A self-maintaining crane system including a bridge, a trolley, a hoist, and sensors for use within a hostile environment, such as a wastewater treatment facility, is presented. The bridge is movable along a pair of runway rails. The trolley is movable between the runway rails. The hoist with extendable-retractable cable is movable with the trolley. Bridge sensors determine whether the bridge has engaged home and end positions. Trolley sensors determine whether the trolley has engaged home and end positions. The bridge and the trolley are movable between home and end positions. Hoist sensors determine whether the cable has engaged a hoist home position and a hoist end position. The cable is extendable away from the home position and retractable toward the end position. Sensors facilitate automated movement of bridge, trolley, and cable so as to minimize functional impairment of the crane system by the hostile environment.

Abstract: A heavy equipment hazard warning apparatus for a piece of heavy equipment at a site and a system and method for use of the same are disclosed. In one embodiment of the heavy equipment hazard warning apparatus, the location of the heavy equipment is monitored by the heavy equipment warning apparatus and analyzed with reference to a hazard safety site plan of the site that identifies a hazard such as existing utilities, for example. An alert notification is initialized in response to the heavy equipment encroaching on a hazard geofence around the hazard. A shutdown notification is initialized in response to the heavy equipment being proximate to the hazard.

Abstract: A crane vehicle achieves safe movement by reliably detecting an obstacle in a region which is a blind spot from the opposite side of the driver seat across a boom. The crane vehicle includes an obstacle sensor which is a transmission/reception antenna that transmits a detection wave and receives the detection wave reflected from the obstacle. A signal corresponding to the reflected wave received by the obstacle sensor is amplified and input to a controller, which calculates the position and the size of the obstacle on the basis of the signal. The controller generates an obstacle display image and displays the image on a display, the obstacle display image including a vehicle object that represents a crane vehicle and an obstacle object which is an object corresponding to the calculated size of the obstacle and which is disposed at a position corresponding to the calculated position of the obstacle.

Abstract: A control stand is disclosed for controlling a crane, an excavator, a crawler, or a similar construction machine having a seat, control elements actuable from the seat for inputting control commands, a display apparatus for displaying information, and a control unit for generating adjustment signals in dependence on input control commands and/or for providing information to the display apparatus. A crane is disclosed having such a control stand that can be configured in the form of a crane operator's cabin. The control elements and/or the display apparatus of the control stand and various further auxiliary units can be individually configurable. Personal pre-settings can be saved and can be reinvoked when the control stand or the crane is to be controlled by a certain machine operator.
