    摘要: Apparatus (1) for inspecting and sampling a wound coil (2) of metal strip (3) having a supporting arrangement for the wound coil (2). The supporting arrangement has at least two base rollers (4) arranged adjacent to one another. The rollers have roller axes (5) extending parallel to one another and onto which the coil (2) is placed for support. An inspection device (6) is arranged alongside the supporting arrangement. The inspection device (6) performs an inspection of the metal strip (3) at least when the metal strip (3) is a thin metal strip. A sampling device (10) arranged opposite the inspection device (6) with respect to the supporting arrangement, such that the supporting arrangement is located between the inspection device (6) and the sampling device (10). The sampling device (10) has a separating device (12) which takes a sample of the metal strip (3) when the metal strip (3) is a thick metal strip (3).

    摘要: An apparatus for actively transferring a coil of hot metal within a coilbox in hot strip mill. The apparatus is located downstream of the initial coilbox uncoiling station and includes at least one singly pivoting coil cradle. Such a coil cradle has a first support roller with a fixed rotational axis, a swing-frame mounted to pivot about that axis, and a second support roller mounted to the swing-frame, able to pivot about the fixed rotational axis of the first support roller to permit the coil of hot metal to be passed from the coil cradle. In certain embodiments, the apparatus includes a plurality of such singly pivoting coil cradles. The apparatus may also include at least one dually pivoting coil cradle.

A stack of flat pipe spirals is positioned on a power driven rotatable pipe spiral carrier mounted on a deck of a pipe laying vessel. Pipe is withdrawn from the stack of spirals by rotating the pipe carrier and moving the pipe through pipe straightening and tensioning means, after which the pipe is fed to suitable pipe laying means for connecting the pipe to subsea installations.

    摘要: An apparatus for supporting a coil of strip material and for rotating it about its polar axis comprises two sets of rollers arranged in parallel side-by-side relation, each set of rollers being coaxial upon a shaft. One driven roller is provided to rotate the coil by frictional engagement therewith, the remaining said rollers being idlers whose peripheral speed is permitted to vary compared to that of the driven roller to accommodate local variations in the peripheral speed of the coil which may arise due to local variations in coil radius. The width of the coil contacting surface of each roller constitutes a minor portion only of the axial distance spanning the said surfaces of the two rollers axially most distant from each other.

    摘要: The invention relates to an apparatus for sampling rolled metal strips wound up into a coil (1), in particular in the thickness range of >12 mm, comprising a coil rotator and an apparatus (6) for separating the sample from the metal strip (4), characterized in that the coil rotator has at least two rotatable supports (2, 3), preferably trough rollers arranged in a lower quadrant of the coil (1) lying on the coil rotator, and also an outer guide (5) for the metal strip, the outer guide (5) extending angularly around the coil (1) by more than 180° in a region downstream of the downstream support (3) in an unwinding direction of the metal strip and is provided with means (7) for reducing friction of the metal strip on an inner surface of the outer guide (5). Furthermore, the invention relates to a method of sampling rolled metal strips wound up into a coil (1), in particular in the thickness range of >12 mm, with a coil rotator and an apparatus (6) for separating the sample from the metal strip, preferably by an apparatus according to the invention.
