摘要: In one embodiment, an antibacterial material includes at least one microparticles selected from tungsten oxide microparticles and tungsten oxide complex microparticles. The microparticles, which have undergone a test to evaluate viable cell count by inoculating in a test piece, to which the microparticles are adhered in a range of 0.02 mg/cm2 or more and 40 mg/cm2 or less, at least one bacterium selected from among Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, and enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli, and storing for 24 hours, have an antibacterial activity value R of 0.1 or more expressed by the following: R=log(B1/C1) where, B1 denotes an average value (number) of viable cell count after storing an untreated test piece for 24 hours, and C1 denotes an average value (number) of viable cell count after storing the test piece on which the microparticles are coated for 24 hours.

The system further includes a fibrous filter disposed within the conduit and configured to treat the ambient air thereby generating the treated air, and a renewal unit disposed within the conduit and configured to renew the fibrous filter.

摘要: A system for decontaminating/neutralizing breathable air and surfaces in an occupied enclosed space, i.e., agricultural greenhouse, includes mounting an atmospheric hydroxyl radical generator along an inside surface of the atmospheric hydroxyl radical generator having respective opposite air inlets and air outlets. The hydroxyl radical generator includes a polygonal housing supporting a plurality of spaced crystal-spliced UV optics, which are tubular, medical grade pure quartz optics to emit/irradiate ultraviolet in the nanometer wavelength/ultraviolet spectrum of between 100 and 400 nanometers for deactivating and neutralizing atmospheric chemicals and pathogens in breathable air and surfaces. The hydroxyl radicals contact the walls of the reaction chamber housing. The hydroxyl radicals become created and excited to react quickly with impurities including VOC, virus, bacteria and fungi, rendering them inactivated and neutral. The breathable air passes through the polygonal housing and is decontaminated and neutralized of impurities before entering the occupied enclosed space.

摘要: Articles can be provided with odor resistance by applying a dispersion of a halogenated heterocyclic N-halamine in an inert liquid carrier onto the surface of the article and allowing the inert liquid carrier to penetrate into it. The N-halamine accordingly becomes deposited on the surface of the article after the inert liquid carrier penetrates into the article. This method can be used to provide odor resistance to a variety of substrates, including garbage bags. It can also be used to deposit other functional particulates onto the surface of substrates having sufficient porosity to take up the vehicle. For instance, such functional particles can be oxidants that display antimicrobial and/or enzyme inhibitory efficacy or particles having toxin interaction potentials through oxidative degradation or adsorption of toxic substances in air and/or water, such as fluoride uptake by metal oxide microparticles.

摘要: A system for applying a novel odor abating solution to an odor-emitting surface includes a storage compartment comprising a solution of iodine having a concentration of at least 0.0005% by total weight of the solution of I2; a misting system having mist nozzles that are supported over the odor-emitting surface, creating an aerial environment between the odor-emitting surface and the mist nozzles; misting nozzles configured to spray droplets of the solution into the aerial environment over the odor-emitting surface so that, in absence of any air movement exceeding 1 kilometer/hour, at least 75% of the droplets are suspended in the aerial environment over the odor-emitting surface for at least 10 seconds, allowing at least 1% by weight of the I2 in the solution to react with emitted odor before the 75% of the droplets are deposited on the odor-emitting surface. The odor-emitting surface may be within a waste transfer station.
