Abstract: A multi-mode power amplifying apparatus has a power amplifier and an attenuator coupled to an input of the power amplifier. The power amplifying apparatus is adapted to operate in a plurality of operation modes and configured to amplify, in each operation mode, a radio frequency signal with an associated power amplifier gain. A tuning controller is configured to adjust a setting of the attenuator based on a current operation mode.

Abstract: A power amplifier includes a power amplifier stage configured to amplify a signal received from an attenuator or from a variable gain amplifier. An open loop transient gain compensation circuit compensates a transient turn-on gain variation of the power amplifier stage with a transient compensation current added to a bias current supplied to the attenuator or supplied to the variable gain amplifier.
