Abstract: An artificial neural network (ANN) system includes a processor, a virtual overflow detection circuit and a data format controller. The processor performs node operations with respect to a plurality of nodes included in each layer of an ANN to obtain a plurality of result values of the node operations and performs a quantization operation on the obtained plurality of result values based on a k-th fixed-point format for a current quantization of the each layer to obtain a plurality of quantization values. The virtual overflow detection circuit generates a virtual overflow information indicating a distribution of valid bit numbers of the obtained plurality of quantization values. The data format controller determines a (k+1)-th fixed-point format for a next quantization of the each layer based on the generated virtual overflow information. An overflow and/or an underflow are prevented efficiently by controlling the fixed-point format using the virtual overflow.

Abstract: An electronic device is disclosed. The electronic device includes a camera, a communication module, and a processor. The processor is operably coupled with the camera and the communication module. The processor is configured to obtain a first image corresponding to an external object using the camera. The processor is also configured to generate a second image smaller in data size than the first image using the first image. The processor is further configured to transmit the second image to an external electronic device through the communication module. The processor is also configured to receive correction area information from the external electronic device through the communication module. The correction area information is based on information associated with an image area identified from the second image. The processor is further configured to perform correction using the first image based on at least part of the correction area information.

Provided are a method and an apparatus for network quality management. An operating method of a controller apparatus for measuring a network quality according to various embodiments of the present disclosure comprises the steps of: receiving a message including information on targets, the network quality of which is to be measured; determining a path between the targets; transmitting information on the path to at least one different network element (NE); and transmitting a measurement request message to at least one of the targets so as to measure the network quality on the basis of the information on the path. Therefore, the method and the apparatus according to various embodiments of the present disclosure can efficiently manage the quality of a network.

Methods of operating a device for controlling a flow rule in a software-defined network (SDN), according to various embodiments, comprise: an operation of receiving a physical address request packet for a first host to communicate with a second host from a first network device connected with the first host; an operation of transmitting the received physical address request packet to a second network device connected with the second host; an operation of generating a flow rule relating to a transmission path of a data packet transmitted from the first host to the second host, on the basis of the physical address of the first host and the physical address of the second host, when a physical address response packet including the physical address of the second host is received from the second network device as a response to the physical address request packet; and an operation of transmitting the generated flow rule to the first network device and the second network device, so that the first network device and the second network device transmit the data packet on the basis of the flow rule.
