Abstract: According to one aspect, an ambient-light sensor includes a photodiode configured to generate an electrical signal according to an ambient light, a capacitive-feedback transimpedance amplifier connected at its input to the photodiode for receiving a signal generated by the photodiode and for generating as an output an amplified signal from the signal generated by the photodiode, and an auto-zero switch at the input of the capacitive-feedback transimpedance amplifier. The ambient-light sensor further includes a control circuit including a bootstrap circuit configured to receive an initial positive- or zero-voltage logic control signal, and then generate, from this initial logic control signal, an adapted logic control signal having a first positive voltage level and a second negative voltage control level for controlling the auto-zero switch.

Abstract: In an embodiment a method for measuring ambient light includes successively synchronizing optical signal acquisition phases with extinction phases of a disruptive light source, wherein the disruptive light source periodically provides illumination phases and the extinction phases, accumulating, in each acquisition phase, photo-generated charges by at least one photosensitive pixel comprising a pinned photodiode, transferring the accumulated photo-generated charges to an integration node and integrating, for each pixel, the transferred charges on the integration node during a series of the successive acquisition phases.

Abstract: A driver circuit includes a fly capacitor with a first end and a second end. The driver circuit includes a laser diode having an anode and a cathode. The driver circuit is configured to operate in first and second operating states. The anode is coupled to the first end of the fly capacitor. Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method of optical pulse emission including three phases. During a first phase, a capacitor is charged from a supply voltage node. During a second phase, a voltage stored on the capacitor is boosted, and then the capacitor is at least partially discharged through a light emitting device. During a third phase, the capacitor is further discharged by bypassing the light emitting device. The third phase may begin prior to an end of the second phase.

Abstract: An optical pulse emitter includes a light emitting device having a first node coupled to an intermediate node via a first switch. The intermediate node is coupled to a supply voltage node via a second switch. A capacitor is coupled to the intermediate node. The first, second and third switches are controlled by a control circuit. During a first phase, the second switch is actuated to couple the capacitor to the supply voltage node. During a second phase, the second switch is deactuated and the first switch is actuated to at least partially discharge the capacitor through the light emitting device. During a third phase, discharge current from the capacitor bypasses around the light emitting device.
