Abstract: A distance-measuring optoelectronic sensor (10) uses two sampling memories for detection of objects in a monitoring zone (20). The sensor (10) has a light transmitter (12) for transmitting a transmission light pulse (16) into the monitoring area (20), a light receiver (26) for generating a reception signal from the light pulse (22) remitted by objects in the monitoring area (20), a control and evaluation unit (32) configured to determine a reception point in time from the reception signal and the distance of the object by means of a light time of flight method, and a first and second sampling memory (34a, 34b) having a plurality of memory cells each for storing a section of the reception signal. Partially overlapping recording regions are used, with each alternately recording a reception signal for a longer duration than a time interval between two successive transmission light pulses (16).

Abstract: A distance-measuring sensor (10) is provided for detecting and determining the distance of objects (18) in a monitored zone comprising a transmitter (12) for transmitting transmitted pulses; a receiver (20) for generating a received signal from the transmitted pulses remitted in the monitored zone; a first comparator unit (36a) for digitizing the received signal with reference to a first threshold; and a control and evaluation unit (30) which is configured to transmit a plurality of transmitted pulses via the transmitter (12), to collect the received signals thereupon generated by the receiver (20) in a histogram and to determine a received time point from the histogram and thus to determine a measured value for the signal transit time from the sensor (10) to the object (18). In this respect, a second comparator unit (36b) is provided for digitizing the received signal with reference to a second threshold, wherein the first comparator unit (36a), the second comparator unit (36b) and the control and evaluation unit (30) are configured to acquire three digital states of a respective section of the received signal with reference to the first threshold and to weight the contributions of the section to the histogram in dependence on the digital state.

Abstract: The invention relates to an optoelectronic sensor for monitoring a monitored zone. The sensor comprises a main light transmitter for transmitting sensing light signals that propagate through a protective screen into the monitored zone; a main light receiver for receiving light that emanates from the monitored zone; and a control unit for controlling the sensor. The sensor is configured in this respect to carry out a contamination recognition in which the degree of contamination of the protective screen is determined by means of a measured contamination value. The sensor in accordance with the invention is characterized in that the control unit is adapted to recognize the approach of a hand and/or of a finger toward the protective screen with reference to the contamination recognition and to output an action signal on the recognition of the hand and/or of the finger.
