Abstract: Provided is a silica film, etc. not having the film strength thereof being easily degraded, even when hollow silica particles are contained therein. Further, provided is a silica film, etc. having a lower reflectivity. A silica layer (the silica film) comprises silica and fluorinated hollow silica particles. The silica is formed by converting polysilazane into silica. The fluorinated hollow silica particles are locally distributed on the surface of the silica layer. The part where the fluorinated hollow silica particles are localized has the function of a low refractive index layer, and the parts other than the part where the fluorinated hollow silica particles are localized have the function of a hard coat layer.

Abstract: Provided is a polymer film in which metal oxide particles are localized to a great degree, wherein the polymer film is a hard coat layer that includes a binder including a first polymer component and a second polymer component that are miscible with each other and metal oxide particles that are unevenly distributed with a greater concentration toward at least one of a surface portion and the other surface portion opposite the surface portion, wherein the first polymer component may be hydrophilic, the second polymer component may be hydrophobic relative to the first polymer component, a proportion of the first polymer component may gradually decrease from the surface portion to the other surface portion, and the surface portion may be toward a substrate for forming the polymer film. An optical member, such as a polarization member, and a display device employing the polymer film are also provided.

Abstract: Provided are: a polymer film of which film strength is difficult to be degraded and which has a lower reflectance, even when an additive is used, and an optical member, a polarizing member, and a display device employing the same. A low refractive index layer (the polymer film 13) includes a binder 132 including a product obtained by photopolymerizing a mixture of a side-chain-reactive photopolymerizable fluoropolymer and a siloxane compound. Further, the low refractive index layer 13 includes hollow silica particles 131 distributed in the binder 132. Further, the low refractive index layer 13 includes a product obtained by photopolymerizing a one-end reactive-type photopolymerizable fluoropolymer, and a modified silicone, which are mainly distributed in a surface side.

Further, provided is a resin film, etc. having a lower reflectivity. A low refractive index layer (the resin film) comprises a binder. Further, the low refractive index layer comprises hollow particles distributed in the binder. Further, the low refractive index layer comprises a fluorine-containing polymer which is immiscible with the hollow particles. The fluorine-containing polymer which is immiscible with the hollow particles is mostly distributed on the surface of the low refractive index layer.
