    Abstract: A liquid crystal display device includes a first substrate; a switching element including a control electrode disposed on the first substrate, one electrode disposed on the control electrode, and another electrode disposed on the control electrode and spaced apart from the one electrode; a contact hole extending to at least a part of the another electrode of the switching element; a pixel electrode including a contact portion disposed on the another electrode of the switching element and overlapping at least a part of the another electrode to which the contact hole extends, and a body portion electrically connected with the contact portion; and a column spacer disposed on the pixel electrode and at least partially overlapping the contact hole.

According to an exemplary embodiment, a display device includes: a first substrate on which a display area and a non-display area disposed outside the display area are defined; a second substrate facing the first substrate; a liquid crystal layer disposed between the first and second substrates; a first color filter disposed in the non-display area; a second color filter disposed on the first color filter; a first organic film disposed on the second color filter; and a seal pattern formed on the first organic film and overlapping with at least one of the first and second color filters.

    Abstract: A method for manufacturing a display device includes manufacturing an epitaxial wafer including an epitaxial thin film, dividing the epitaxial wafer into wafer dies having a size corresponding to an area of each cell area of a backplane substrate including cell areas, transferring the wafer dies to a carrier substrate, forming a conductive bonding layer on epitaxial dies of the wafer dies, disposing the carrier substrate on the backplane substrate such that the epitaxial dies are disposed in each cell area of the backplane substrate and bonding the epitaxial dies onto the backplane substrate, removing the carrier substrate from the epitaxial dies, and etching the epitaxial dies to form respective light emitting elements in emission areas included in each cell area of the backplane substrate.

    Abstract: A display device includes a first substrate, thin film transistors, a color filter layer, a light blocking pattern, a second substrate, pixel electrodes, and, a plurality of first spacers. The first substrate includes a display area having a plurality of pixel areas and a non-display area surrounding at least part of the display area, the display area including an interior area and at least one peripheral area disposed exteriorly of the interior area. The second substrate defines with the first substrate a space to contain light transmittance material. The plurality of first spacers is disposed in the light transmittance space between the first and second substrates and only in the interior area of the display area.
