    Abstract: A method of wireless communications at a user equipment (UE) includes receiving, from a serving cell associated with a wireless network, a radio resource management (RRM) mode indicator that indicates a set of one or more beams for which cell measurement and reporting is to be performed by the UE; performing at least one cell measurement on at least one synchronization signal (SS) block received from at least one neighboring cell; determining, based at least in part on the RRM mode indicator, whether to decode a physical broadcast channel (PBCH) received in each SS block of the at least one SS block; and transmitting a cell measurement report, the cell measurement report based at least in part on the at least one cell measurement, the cell measurement report selectively including at least one beam index based at least in part on whether the PBCH is decoded.

    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to signaling information in physical broadcast channel (PBCH) demodulation reference signals (DMRS). In one example, a network entity may transmit the signaling information carried by a DMRS in one or more resource elements of physical broadcast channel (PBCH) symbols within a bandwidth of a primary synchronization signal and a secondary synchronization signal of a synchronization signal block. In another example, a user equipment (UE) may receive the signaling information carried by the DMRS within one or more resource elements of PBCH symbols within a bandwidth of a primary synchronization signal and a secondary synchronization signal of a synchronization signal block on a broadcast channel from the network entity.

    Abstract: Techniques are described herein to improve a link budget of physical random access channel (PRACH) transmissions used during a random access (RACH) procedure. The link budget of a PRACH transmission associated with the RACH procedure may be improved by transmitting multiple PRACH transmissions. The multiple PRACH transmissions may be combined to achieve some combining gain. Each retransmission of a PRACH transmission may be done at a higher power level than the previous PRACH transmission. If UE receives an indication that a target base station failed to successfully decode the PRACH transmission, the UE may retransmit the PRACH transmission but at a higher power level than the initial PRACH transmission. PRACH transmissions may be distributed across multiple slots. PRACH transmissions may be distributed across multiple frequency sub-bands in the same slot or across frequency sub-bands in the different slots.

    Abstract: Various aspects provide for communicating a first set of broadcast reference signals (RSs) in a first subframe that includes a synchronization (SYNC) channel and communicating a second set of broadcast RSs in a second subframe that follows the first subframe. The second subframe may immediately follow the first subframe. A portion of the SYNC channel may include information indicating a configuration of broadcast RSs in one or more other subframes. The brhoadcast RSs may be configured for timing-error estimation, frequency-error estimation, and/or channel estimation. In some aspects, a base station may identify a synchronization signal (SS) block index associated with a SS block; scramble a physical broadcast channel (PBCH), associated with the SS block, based at least in part on the SS block index; and transmit the SS block including a tertiary synchronization signal (TSS) and the PBCH, wherein the TSS includes information that identifies the SS block index associated with the SS block, and wherein the TSS is frequency division multiplexed with the PBCH in two or more orthogonal frequency-division multiplexed (OFDM) symbols of the SS block.     Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A base station and user equipment (UE) may use quasi co-located antenna ports for transmission and reception of synchronization and/or reference signals and positioning reference signals. For example, the base station may identify a quasi co-location relationship indicating that antenna ports of the base station used to transmit a synchronization signal are quasi co-located with antenna ports of the base station used to transmit a positioning reference signal. In some cases, the base station may transmit an indication of the quasi co-location relationship to the UE. Additionally, the UE may receive the synchronization signal and determine a receive beam for the UE to use to receive the positioning reference signal based at least in part on the received synchronization signal and the identified quasi co-location relationship. The UE may then receive a positioning reference signal using the determined receive beam.
