    Abstract: A self-vibrating pH probe comprise a housing containing an electronic assembly to which is coupled a vibration source element so that at least a portion of vibrations caused by the vibration source element propagate to the electronic assembly, the vibration source element being controllable for at least on/off operation. The self-vibrating pH probe further comprising a pH probe member having a probe tip at a first end, the probe member extending from the housing and mechanically and electrically coupled by a second end to the electronic assembly so that at least a portion of vibrations propagating to the electronic assembly further propagate to the probe tip; and further including a processor coupled to the electronic assembly for coordinating operation of the vibration source element and operation of the pH probe member.

    Abstract: A probed-solution disturbance controller includes an interface for receiving a solution sample signal from a probe in communication with a probed solution and an ion state detector that determines an ion state relative to a tip of the probe disposed for sampling the solution. The ion state is determined based on at least one of a measure of ion buildup or an estimate of ion buildup relative to the tip of the probe. A processor for the probed-solution disturbance controller is configured to cause disturbance of the probed solution responsive to the solution sample signal from the probe. The processor is adapted to control when the disturbance of the solution is activated relative to a next sample event. The processor controls at least one of following: disturbance duration; disturbance amplitude; disturbance start time; or disturbance stop time.

    Abstract: An process for assembling a data logger for logging a sensed condition of an environment includes the steps of (1) reflow soldering a partially complete data logger printed circuit board; (2) assembling a sensor component to the printed circuit board via a molded socket that utilizes elastomeric contacts to cause an electrical connection between leads of the sensor component and the conductors on the printed circuit board; and (3) performing a sensor component specific post assembly process that results in the sensor component meeting a plurality of operational specifications, wherein the sensor component specific process takes less than two hours to complete.

    Abstract: A controller for a pH probe having a first interface for controlling a pH probe and a second interface for controlling a source of vibration of the pH probe. The controller for the pH probe has a processor coordinating operation of the source of vibration via the second interface and the pH probe via the first interface. The processor is adapted to determine at least two controllable aspects of the source of vibration selected from a list consisting of amplitude, oscillation frequency, duration, period, start time, stop time, and delay between the stop time and the start time.
