    Abstract: Methods and apparatus, including computer program products, are provided for public warning messages. In some example embodiment, there may be provided a method including receiving, at a user equipment, an indication, wherein the indication indicates whether a radio access network provides support for public warning system warning messages and/or indicates whether the radio access network allows the public warning system warning messages to be received by non-allowed user equipment; and deciding, by the user equipment, whether to select or reselect the radio access network based on the received indication. Related systems, methods, and articles of manufacture are also disclosed.

    Abstract: Systems, methods, and software of directly connecting a SIM-less device with a cellular network. In one embodiment, User Equipment (UE) includes a Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) provisioned with a plurality of subscription profiles for subscriptions to the cellular network. The UE establishes a direct communication with a SIM-less device that does not have a subscription with the cellular network. The UE selects one of the subscriptions provisioned in the SIM as a temporary subscription assigned to the SIM-less device to allow the SIM-less device to establish a direct connection with the cellular network using the temporary subscription, and transmits a message to the SIM-less device via the direct communication containing subscription credentials for the temporary subscription. The SIM-less device may therefore register with the cellular network using the subscription credentials provided by the UE, and establish a direct connection with the cellular network using the temporary subscription.

Another example technique may include receiving, by a base station from one or more core network entities within a wireless network, network slice-specific load information that indicates a load for each of one or more network slices, determining, by the base station based on the received network slice-specific load information, a barring configuration that indicates a set of barring parameters for one or more access categories, and sending, by the base station to a user device, the barring configuration to reduce a load on the wireless network.

    Abstract: Techniques for providing a secure clock source in a communication network are disclosed. For example, a method comprises participating in a bi-directional authentication with a network entity in a communication network, sending a clock service request message to the network entity, receiving a clock service accept message in response to the clock service request message when the apparatus is eligible to use a clock service, and receiving one or more secure clock signals from the network entity. Another method comprises participating in a bi-directional authentication with a requesting device in a communication network, receiving a clock service request message from the requesting device, verifying the eligibility of the requesting device to request a clock service, and sending one or more secure clock signals to the requesting device in response to successfully verifying the requesting device.
