Abstract: A method for enhancing mobility of a communications apparatus is provided. The method includes the steps of: establishing a connection with a cell; measuring one or more parameters of one or more cells; transmitting a measurement report to a network device according to the measured parameters of the one or more cells; determining whether a mobility command is received from the network device after transmitting the measurement report; and triggering a connection release procedure based on no mobility command being received from the network device after transmitting the measurement report.

Abstract: A mobile communication device including a Radio Frequency (RF) device and a baseband processor is provided. The RF device performs wireless transmission and reception to and from one or more cells. The baseband processor uses a first subscriber identity to establish a connection with a serving cell via the RF device to perform a first communication procedure, and in response to completing the first communication procedure or the first communication procedure being interrupted by a second communication procedure associated with a second subscriber identity, uses the first subscriber identity to send a measurement report to the serving cell via the RF device. In particular, the measurement report indicates a reported signal quality of the serving cell is poor enough to release the connection.

Abstract: Various solutions for cell reselection with interference avoidance with respect to user equipment and network apparatus in mobile communications are described. An apparatus may receive frequency information of a target cell from a broadcast channel of a serving cell. The apparatus may determine an overlapped bandwidth region between the serving cell and the target cell according to the frequency information. The apparatus may compare a signal quality of the serving cell in the overlapped bandwidth region with a signal quality of the target cell in the overlapped bandwidth region. The apparatus may determine whether to perform a cell reselection according to a comparison result.

Abstract: A method for switching between different RATs is provided. The method is executed by a mobile communications device camping on a first cell using a first Radio Access Technology (RAT). The method includes: determining, by a controller of the mobile communications device, a data transmission rate of the mobile communications device in the first cell; sending, by the controller, a first measurement report according to the determined data transmission rate, wherein the first measurement report is intended to trigger a handover procedure initiated by the first cell or to release a radio resource control (RRC) connection; and switching, by the controller, to camp on a second cell using a second RAT via the handover procedure or a local releasing procedure after the sending of the first measurement report.
