    Abstract: Technology for a user equipment (UE) operable to perform mission critical communications with an eNodeB is disclosed. The UE can transmit a physical random access channel (PRACH) signal to the eNodeB that indicates a mission critical communication to be performed between the UE and the eNodeB. The PRACH signal can be transmitted in accordance with a first transmission time interval (TTI). The UE can receive a random access response (RAR) message from the eNodeB that includes a timing advance (TA) and a resource allocation for the mission critical communication. The RAR message can be transmitted from the eNodeB using a second TTI. The UE can perform the mission critical communication with the eNodeB in an uplink using the TA and the resource allocation indicated in the RAR message. The mission critical communication can be performed using a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) and in accordance with the second TTI.

    Abstract: Embodiments of a User Equipment (UE), generation Node-B (gNB) and methods of communication are generally described herein. A radio frame may be configured for time-division duplexing (TDD) operation, and may comprise: one or more downlink subframes, one or more uplink subframes, and a special subframe that occurs immediately after one of the downlink subframes and immediately before one of the uplink subframes. The UE may receive a narrowband physical downlink shared channel (NPDSCH) sent at least partly in the special subframe. The UE may, if a number of repetitions of the NPDSCH is greater than one, decode the NPDSCH based on a de-puncture operation for the special subframe. The UE may, if the number of repetitions of the NPDSCH is equal to one, decode the NPDSCH based on a rate match operation for the special subframe.

    Abstract: Systems and methods of early termination of uplink data transmissions for a UE are described. The UE transmits capacity information that indicates that the UE supports use of an ETS. The ETS indicates successful reception by the eNB of the uplink data prior to an end of a scheduled transmission period to transmit repeated instances of the data. The UE receives a schedule for repeated transmissions of the data that is based on a coverage level of the UE, and then transmits sets of one or more repetitions. After the transmission, the UE monitors a predetermined resource whether the ETS is present or whether the ETS indicates an ACK. If the ETS indicates successful reception, the UE terminates transmission of the remaining repetitions of the data and enters a sleep mode or transmits other uplink data.

    Abstract: A user equipment (UE) or network device gNB can process or generate downlink control information transmissions for new radio (NR) systems or networks based on a compact DCI format. The DCI can include a grouped broadcast message for reduced signaling overhead that comprises random access response (RAR) message, a paging message, a system information block (SIB) message, another message information type, or any combination thereof. The DCI transmission can be determined as comprising paging information based on a direct indication in a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) only or both in the PDCCH and a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) based on a flag field of the DCI transmission. Other configurations can also further reduce signaling overhead additionally or alternatively.

    Abstract: An apparatus of a wireless communication device operable to communicate channel state information in a wireless network can include memory and processing circuitry coupled to the memory. The processing circuitry is arranged to derive one or more principal eigen beams from received Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) signals, the one or more principal eigen beams having a rank greater than or equal to one. Quantized eigen beams may be derived from the one or more principal eigen beams. A bit pattern of the quantized eigen beams and at least one of a wideband channel quality indicator (CQI) or a subband CQI may be conditioned on the quantized eigen beams. Channel State Information Reference Signal (CSI-RS) may be encoded with the conditioned bit pattern for transmission to an Evolved Node-B (eNB) in the wireless network.
