Abstract: A delay budget determining method and apparatus are provided. A communication device first determines a transmission delay of a first data packet from a server to a communication device, and then determines a delay budget of the first data packet from the communication device to a terminal device based on the transmission delay and an end-to-end packet delay budget. The delay budget of the first data packet from the communication device to the terminal device is determined based on the transmission delay of the first data packet from the server to the communication device. Therefore, even for an end-to-end delay-sensitive service, a transmission delay of a data packet of the end-to-end delay-sensitive service can also be ensured.

Abstract: This application provides a data transmission method and an apparatus that are used for extended reality (XR) technologies. In a data transmission method disclosed herein, different parts of to-be-transmitted data are segmented into different code blocks (CBs), to mitigate impact of a transmission failure of one part of the to-be-transmitted data on another part of the to-be-transmitted data, thereby improving overall user experience in data reception. Abstract: A discontinuous reception (DRX) method performed by a terminal, for example, is provided. The method includes starting a DRX on duration timer and monitoring a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) in a DRX cycle. When the PDCCH indicates that a new data transmission is detected in the DRX cycle, a DRX-inactivity timer is started and the PDCCH is continuing to be monitored. The DRX on duration timer is stopped when at least the DRX-inactivity timer expires while the DRX on duration timer has not yet expired.
