Abstract: A method and an apparatus are provided. In the method, first discontinuous reception DRX configuration information is obtained; first cycle duration T1 of a first DRX cycle, a quantity N1 of first on-duration periods in the first DRX cycle, and duration of the first on-duration period are obtained based on the first DRX configuration information, where T1>0 and N1>0; and a physical downlink control channel PDCCH is monitored in one or more first on-duration periods in the first DRX cycle based on the first cycle duration T1, the quantity N1 of first on-duration periods, and the duration of the first on-duration period. According to the method, an on-duration period in a DRX cycle can match an arrival cycle of data.

Abstract: An apparatus includes one or more processors that, in response to executing instructions, cause the apparatus to encode a first signal to obtain a first data packet. The first data packet includes first indication information indicating a first tactile sensing threshold. The apparatus is also caused to send the first data packet to a user plane function (UPF) network element. In response to determining the first signal, a second signal, and the first tactile sensing threshold meet a first condition, the apparatus is caused to encode the second signal to obtain a second data packet. The second data packet includes second indication information indicating the first tactile sensing threshold, and the first signal and the second signal correspond to a same tactile flow. The apparatus is additionally caused to send the second data packet to the UPF network element.

Abstract: A delay budget determining method and apparatus are provided. A communication device first determines a transmission delay of a first data packet from a server to a communication device, and then determines a delay budget of the first data packet from the communication device to a terminal device based on the transmission delay and an end-to-end packet delay budget. The delay budget of the first data packet from the communication device to the terminal device is determined based on the transmission delay of the first data packet from the server to the communication device. Therefore, even for an end-to-end delay-sensitive service, a transmission delay of a data packet of the end-to-end delay-sensitive service can also be ensured.

Abstract: This application provides a communication method and an apparatus, to help improve transmission efficiency of an uplink XR service. The method includes: A terminal device sends, to a core network device, a first identifier indicating a transmission requirement. Abstract: A discontinuous reception (DRX) method performed by a terminal, for example, is provided. The method includes starting a DRX on duration timer and monitoring a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) in a DRX cycle. When the PDCCH indicates that a new data transmission is detected in the DRX cycle, a DRX-inactivity timer is started and the PDCCH is continuing to be monitored. The DRX on duration timer is stopped when at least the DRX-inactivity timer expires while the DRX on duration timer has not yet expired.
