    摘要: The present invention relates to wood that is reinforced with a fiber-reinforced thermoplastic composite that contains a plurality of substantially parallel continuous fibers impregnated with thermoplastic polymer having the following structural units: where Z is S or O, and Z′ is S, O, N-alkyl or NH The invention is useful in a variety of applications including glue-laminated structures, laminated veneer lumber, reinforced I-beams, parallel strand lumber, reinforced particle board, and ladders. The use of a thermoplastic polyurethane, particularly the high Tg thermoplastic polyurethane as the impregnating resin provides a means of recycling and reusing the reinforced lumber, as well as shaping the composite in ways that would be impossible using conventional fiber-reinforced thermoset composites.

The display screen forms a majority of the surface area of the top surface of the housing. The phone also includes a keypad having a plurality of keys corresponding with the digits 0-9. The plurality of keys are sequentially positioned along a side of the display on the top surface. The key for the digit 0 is adjacent to either the key for the digit 1 or the key for the digit 9. The phone further includes a first battery and a second battery that are coupled with the housing. In operation, the first and second batteries cooperatively provide power to operate the phone.

    摘要: A composite panel consisting of outer skins and an inner core consisting of a foamed polymer, wherein the structure or properties of the inner core are anisotropic. The composite panel can be made by applying external heat and pressure to melt a skin of thermoplastic composite and an initial thickness of a thermoplastic core which has anisotropic properties causing the skin and core to fuse together followed by cooling the fused structure. The composite panel can be made by applying external heat and pressure to melt layers of a thermoplastic adhesive positioned between the outer skins and an inner core consisting of a foamed polymer, wherein the structure or properties of the inner core are anisotropic, so that the skins are bonded to the core by the melted layers of the thermoplastic adhesive followed by cooling the bonded structure.
