Abstract: Systems and methods for selecting, storing, and displaying content items are provided, in which complex content selection logic is performed at a content provider environment (i.e., server-side) and selected content items are transmitted to and stored locally at a client device. Thus, the client device can quickly load a content item for display when a content display opportunity occurs, rotating through the stored content items with relatively simple logic. The client device may transmit a request to the content provider for more content if the amount of available content items is below a threshold. The content provider then runs content selection logic designated for the specific client device and selects one or more new content items to transmit to the client device.

Abstract: Delivery of directed content to semi-connected devices is provided. In some embodiments, content packages configured to be presented at a semi-connected device can be partitioned into alternative content packages. The alternative content packages are seamless to a publisher of the content packages and that permits backward compatibility with existing technology. Configuration of presentation attributes of the alternative content packages can be accomplished via rules that contemplate several delivery factors, such as publisher of the content package; type of the content package; type of the semi-connected device; and/or a model of such a device. Application of such rules for a content package can result in customized metadata that controls presentation of a media asset associated with the content package.

For example, a request for a metric determination for an item may be received where the request is associated with a user identifier. Browsing history information and purchase history information from a website may be obtained based at least in part on the user identifier. The browsing history information and the purchase history information may be filtered to obtain a data set based at least in part on a plurality of item categories associated with items included in the browsing history information and the purchase history information. A metric for the item may be determined based at least in part on the data set and a base metric for the item.

Abstract: Techniques for improving dynamic content retrieval are described. In an example, a system may receive a request for content. The request may be associated with an access by a computing device to a network document. The system may determine a context associated with the network document based on the request. The content may be pre-computed based on historical accesses to a network resource. The system may determine a match between the context and a pre-computed context that is associated with content and may select the content from a set of candidate content based on an intent description of a content provider and historical behavior data of visitors to the network resource. The intent description may be associated with a presentation of the content at the network resource. The system may provide an identifier of the content. The identifier may be usable to present the content at the computing device.

Abstract: Techniques for utilizing machine learning to generate and use publishing parameters for a content delivery system are described. According to some examples, a computer-implemented method includes receiving, by a content delivery service, a request from a content provider device to send a media file to a client device; determining, by a provider intention match machine learning model of the content delivery service, a first set of one or more potential publishing parameters for the media file based on the request; sending a proposal to the content provider device to send the media file to the client device according to the first set of one or more potential publishing parameters; receiving, by the content delivery service, an indication from the content provider device to modify the first set of one or more potential publishing parameters for the media file; determining, by a negotiation simulation machine learning model of the content delivery service, a second set of one or more potential publishing parameters for the media file based on the indication from the content provider device; and sending the media file to the client device based on the second set of one or more potential publishing parameters.

In an example, a computer system may receive, from a content provider device, an intent description associated with providing content at a network resource. The computer system may determine a goal and a predicate based on the intent description and may select a workflow from a plurality of workflows based on the goal and the predicate. The workflow may be associated with determining a context of a network document based on historical behavior data of visitors to the network resource and on a taxonomy of the network resource. The computer system may determine the context based on an execution of the workflow, the historical behavior data, and the taxonomy. The computer system may store an association between the context and the content. The association may be usable to select the content for presentation in a network document of the network resource.
