Abstract:
A light comprising an LED whose light intensity decreases as the angle from an axis of the LED increases, and a convex lens associated with the LED such that a beam width of the LED is concentrated by the lens into a narrower beam width, wherein the convex lens includes both a convex surface and a concave surface, and the concave surface is curved more sharply towards its edge than towards its center such that light is more evenly spread across the beam width of the lens.
Abstract:
A wheeled walker convertible to a transport chair. The walker has a strap-type backrest that is pivotally attached to the upper end of the handlebars. The backrest can be placed in a forward position when the apparatus is used as a walker and the user wishes to rest in a rearward facing sitting position and in a rearward position when the apparatus is used as a transport chair and the user sits in a forward facing position and is propelled by a care-giver. A novel braking system locates the brake actuating linkage inside the leg and handlebar members and provides accommodates extension height adjustment of the handlebars. A brake lever system providing a linear pull non-cable brake actuation is also disclosed.
Abstract:
A wheeled walker having a moveable carry basket. The walker has a carry basket mounted between the front leg members. The mounting arrangement permits the basket to be moved between a first position in which the basket projects forward of the front leg members for ease of loading and unloading and a second position in which the basket is displaced substantially rearward of the front leg members under the seating surface.
Abstract:
An LED inspection lamp has plurality of LED sources for emitting electromagnetic radiation at different peak wavelengths for causing visible fluorescence in different leak detection dyes. A lens is associated with each LED. Radiation passing through lenses is superimposed in target area at target distance. Another LED inspection lamp has plurality of LEDs emitting electromagnetic radiation at a peak wavelength. A lens adaptor has lens housing for attachment to LED inspection lamp with a single LED for causing visible fluorescence, and a lens. Substantially all of the radiation from the LED passes through the lens and is focused in a target area at a target distance from the lenses. LED spot lights have a similar configuration. The LEDs may produce white light from distinct LEDs or from white LEDs. The light may be a flashlight or fixed spot light.
Abstract:
A lighting device convertible between reading light and flashlight configurations has separate off/on light actuating switches. The lighting device includes a case, an elongated arm, hinge, light cap, light element, batteries, first switch and second switch. The hinge pivotally mounts a rear end of the arm to a rear end of the case to allow pivotal movement of the arm between an erect position angularly spaced from the case, the reading light configuration, and a lowered position against the main body, the flashlight configuration. The light element is mounted to the light cap which, in turn, is pivotally mounted to a front end of the arm for positioning the light element at various angles to provide light therebelow at various angles with the arm in the erect position and for positioning the light element at first and second angularly displaced positions to provide light directly forwardly of the case in the first position but not in the second position with the arm in the lowered position. The batteries are mounted within the case and are electrically connected to the light element and first and second switches. The first switch is mounted to the case and arm for switching the light element between off and on states in response to the arm being moved between the lowered and erect positions. The second switch is mounted to the case and arm for switching the light element between off and on states in response to the light cap being moved between the first and second positions with the arm in the lowered position.
Abstract:
A lighting device convertible between reading light and pen light configurations uses only a single off/on light actuating switch in either configuration. The lighting device includes a main body, pivoting arm, hinge, light generating element, batteries and switch member and button. The main body has opposite front and rear ends and defines a recess at the front end. The pivoting arm has opposite front and rear ends. The hinge pivotally mounts the rear end of the pivoting arm to the rear end of the main body to allow pivotal movement of the pivoting arm between an erect position angularly spaced from the main body, the reading light configuration, and a lowered position adjacent to the main body, the pen light configuration. The light generating element is mounted to the pivoting arm adjacent to the front end thereof for providing light therebelow when the pivoting arm is in the erect position and is insertable within the recess of the main body and exposed only at the front end of the main body to provide light directly forwardly of the main body when the pivoting arm is in the lowered position. The batteries are mounted within the main body and electrically interconnected to the light generating element and switch member. The switch member and button are mounted to the main body for switching the light generating element between off and on states.

Abstract:
Work light has LEDs that require heatsink. Desired radiation pattern achieved by using optical components designed to produce beam or LEDs may have beams in different directions. Radiation pattern of LEDs may be changed by refractive-reflective optics or by convex lenses. Convex lenses may be hemispheres, other planoconvex shapes, concavo-convex shapes, or other shapes. Curved surfaces on any lenses may be spherical or aspheric. Ballast to operate the LEDs from line voltage AC or low voltage DC. Work light may contain batteries. The work light may be mounted on a stand. May have accessory mount. May have charging station. May have a paging transmitter to activate a paging receiver in work light. May have openings for heat transfer from heatsink to ambient air external to light.
