摘要: A system for monitoring the flow of blood within an endoluminal passage is provided comprising a medical device and a sensor. The medical device is implantable within the endoluminal passage and includes a shaft and an expandable segment coupled to the shaft. The expandable segment is movable between a first state and a second state. Movement of the expandable segment is responsive to a change in the fluid pressure external to the expandable segment. The sensor is positioned on the medical device and is adapted to collect information associated with the state of the expandable segment.

摘要: The invention relates to a method for discriminating cells of a cellular structure, notably of a cellular tissue, comprising the steps consisting in determining (12) a frequency spectrum of the impedance of the cellular structure; defining (22) at least one model of the impedance of the cellular structure including a constant phase element (30); determining (44) the impedance of the constant phase element (30) which optimizes the correlation of each model of the impedance of the cellular structure with the spectrum; and deducing (66), from the impedance of the constant phase element (30) or from the impedances of the constant phase elements (30), an item of information on the cells of the cellular structure. The invention also relates to a system for implementing the method for discriminating cells of a cellular structure.

摘要: Various embodiments are directed toward a system and method for determining an orientation of an implantable medical device ("IMD") and automatically adjusting a subcutaneous electrocardiogram ("ECG") signal based on the determined orientation. The method can further include tagging generated SECG signals so as to identify whether a SECG signal had been generated from an implantable monitoring device with its first electrode being superior or inferior relative to its second electrode. Further embodiments can include automatically adjusting the orientation of the generated SECG signals to match that of a preferred orientation.

摘要: An apparatus includes a sensing circuit configured to generate a sensed physiological signal representative of cardiac activity of a subject, an arrhythmia detection circuit, a control circuit, and a memory. The arrhythmia detection circuit detects an episode of atrial fibrillation (AF) in the sensed cardiac signal using a first AF detection criterion, and detects the episode of AF using a second AF detection criterion. The first AF detection criterion has greater sensitivity to AF detection than the second AF detection criterion, and the second AF detection criterion has greater specificity to AF detection than the first AF detection criterion. The control circuit initiates storing of sampled values of a segment of the cardiac signal that includes the episode of AF when the episode of AF is detected by both the first AF detection criterion and the second AF detection criterion.

摘要: A rechargeable cell of an implantable medical device is recharged by an external charging unit that includes a transmitting coil configured to emit an electromagnetic field and a near-field focusing plate having a subwavelength structure pattern that focuses the emitted electromagnetic field to a focal pattern. The implantable medical device includes a housing having a window of an electromagnetically transparent material and a receiving coil enclosed by the housing. The receiving coil extends adjacent to and is aligned with the window. The rechargeable cell is enclosed by the housing and is configured to be charged by current induced in the receiving coil when the receiving coil is exposed to the focal pattern. In some examples, the near-field focusing plate is configured to produce the focal pattern to have a size that is less than an outer dimension of the window and a focal length from the near-field focusing plate that at least reaches the window.
