The processing circuitry is configured to, when (i) the at least one sample is included in the intra coded block and (ii) a template matching mode is applied to the current block, exclude the at least one sample from the first template to generate a second template for the current block. The processing circuitry is configured to determine a motion vector of the current block based on the second template. The processing circuitry is configured to reconstruct the current block based on the MV.
