PLAYER MONITORING SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR EFFICIENTLY PROCESSING SENSOR DATA
Abstract:
A player monitoring system efficiently processes sensor data in a manner that reduces processing burdens on processing resources of the system. In some embodiments, sensor data from one sensor (e.g., a low-resolution or low-rate sensor) is used to identify an event of interest, such as a player launching an object to another player or goal. In response to the detected event, sensor data from another sensor (e.g., a high-resolution or a high-rate sensor) is culled based on a time or location of the event so as to reduce the amount of data processed by the system to evaluate a performance of a player during the event. Thus, the overall amount of data processed for evaluating player performance can be significantly reduced, thereby increasing system efficiency.
