    Abstract: System-wide clock synchronization and latency reduction of audio signals in a wireless multi-channel audio system (WMAS). The apparatus includes: a base station and a wireless audio device. The base station includes: a master clock source; a framer operative to generate base station frames containing audio data and related audio clock timing derived from said master clock source; and a transmitter operative to transmit the frames over the WMAS. The wireless audio device includes: a receiver operative to receive frames from the base station over the WMAS; and a clock generator circuit operative to input a local clock signal generated by a frame synchronization circuit to generate therefrom multiple clocks derived from the timing signal to synchronize the wireless audio device to base station frames and to enable thereby communications according to a previously determined schedule with the base station.

    Abstract: An electronic device may exchange packets with a second electronic device. These packets may include transmit times, based on a given clock in a given electronic device when the packets were transmitted. Moreover, when the packets are received by the electronic device, the electronic device may store associated receive times based on a clock in the electronic device. Using minimum time differences between the transmit and receive times, the electronic device may calculate a time offset between the electronic device and the second electronic device, which may then be used to determine future times in a clock domain of the second electronic device. Moreover, the electronic device may provide additional packets to the second electronic device, where a given additional packet includes audio data, and a playback time, corresponding to a given future time, when the audio data is to be played back by the second electronic device.

    Abstract: A modular speaker system, comprising an exoskeleton, configured to mechanically support and quick attach and release at least one functional panel and an electrical interface provided within the exoskeleton, configured to mate with a corresponding electrical connector of the functional panel.     Abstract: Example techniques involve noise-robust acoustic echo cancellation. An example implementation may involve causing one or more speakers of the playback device to play back audio content and while the audio content is playing back, capturing, via the one or more microphones, audio within an acoustic environment that includes the audio playback. The example implementation may involve determining measured and reference signals in the STFT domain. During each nth iteration of an acoustic echo canceller (AEC): the implementation may involve determining a frame of an output signal by generating a frame of a model signal by passing a frame of the reference signal through an instance of an adaptive filter and then redacting the nth frame of the model signal from an nth frame of the measured signal. The implementation may further involve determining an instance of the adaptive filter for a next iteration of the AEC.

    Abstract: Examples described herein involve configuring a playback device based on distortion, such as that caused by a barrier. One implementation may involve causing the playback device to play audio content according to an existing playback configuration, determining an existing frequency response of the playback device in a given system, and determining whether a difference between the existing frequency response of the playback device in the given system and a predetermined frequency response for the playback device is greater than a predetermined distortion threshold. If it is determined that the difference between the existing frequency response of the playback device and the predetermined frequency response for the playback device is greater than the predetermined distortion threshold, then the existing playback configuration of the playback device is changed to an updated playback configuration of the playback device and the playback device plays audio content according to the updated playback configuration.

    Abstract: An example playback device is a first playback device in a media system.
