Abstract: An electric motor assembly is configured to determine a motor winding resistance value. Predicted values are determined for a first and second position of motor commutator sections relative to the motor brushes, with at least one of the brushes contacting different numbers of the sections in the first position and the second position. The predicted values are based on a temperature value measured by the temperature sensor and a predetermined dependence of variation of the motor resistance dependent on the temperature value. An electric motor current value is measured by a current sensor when the electric motor is substantially at standstill. A selection is made between different factors for determining the motor resistance value using the electric current value, dependent on which of the predicted values most closely corresponds to the electric current value. The motor resistance is determined using said electric current value according to the selected factor.

Abstract: A control circuit is applied to a system provided with a rotary electric machine, a power converter electrically connected to a winding of the rotary electric machine, a power source, a cutoff switch provided on an electrical path that connects the power source and the power converter, and a storage unit. The control circuit is provided with a failure determination unit that determines whether a failure occurs in the system and a regeneration prevention unit that prevents a power regeneration, where a current flows from a rotary electric machine side towards a storage unit side, from occurring. In the case where the failure determination unit determines that a failure occurs in the system, the cutoff switch is turned OFF after the regeneration prevention unit prevents an occurrence of the power regeneration.

Abstract: A control unit is presented for controlling a driving unit arranged for adjustment of one or more first air guiding flaps of a motorised vehicle between a first outer position and a second outer position. The control unit comprises a communication module for communicating with a vehicle control network for receiving first adjustment instructions for adjusting the first flap, a power supply module comprising an input power terminal for receiving power from a vehicle power network and a first output power terminal for supplying a first current to the driving unit. The control unit further comprises a current sensor module for sensing variations in the first supply current and a control module arranged to control the first supply current in accordance with the adjustment instructions and the sensed variations. By separating the control module from the driving unit, functionality of the control module may be shared over multiple driving units.

Abstract: A method for continuous operation of a rotating machine, the method is performed in a rotating machine having an inner stator and an outer stator. Abstract: A motor control system includes a variable voltage supply in signal communication with a direct current (DC) motor. The DC motor includes a rotor induced to rotate in response to a drive current generated by a variable supply voltage delivered by the voltage supply. The rotation of the rotor 103 generates a mechanical force that drives a component. A ripple count circuit 104 is configured to filter the drive current based on a rotational speed (ω) of the rotor 103 to generate a filtered drive current signal, and to generate a varying threshold based on the filtered drive current signal. Based on a comparison between the filtered drive current signal and the varying threshold, the ripple count circuit 104 generates a pulsed output signal indicative of the rotational speed (ω) of the rotor and a rotational position (θ) of the rotor.

Abstract: A transport apparatus includes an electric motor having a mover and coils, and a control device that controls the electric motor and includes a measuring unit and a control unit. The coils drives the mover by applying a current to each of the coils. The measuring unit measures an impedance of each coil. The control unit controls the current flowing through each of the coils based on a third current command value in which a first current command value, indicating a current corresponding to a thrust command value indicating a thrust applied to the mover, and a second current command value, indicating a current for measuring the impedance, are superimposed. The control unit determines the second current command value such that the mover does not receive a thrust due to a component corresponding to the second current command value in the current flowing through each coil when measuring the impedance.

The driving unit generates a driving signal according to the target position signal to adjust a rotation angle of the corresponding motor device.
