Abstract: A fuel cell system includes: a fuel cell; a temperature acquisition unit that acquires a temperature at a specific position in a vehicle equipped with the fuel cell system; a purge unit that purges the fuel cell when an operation of the fuel cell is stopped; and a control unit that acquires the temperature at the specific position from the temperature acquisition unit at least once from when the fuel cell system is stopped until the fuel cell system is started again, and uses the temperature at the specific position to determine whether purging at a stop by the purge unit is necessary when the fuel cell system is stopped next.

Abstract: A system and method for controlling an output of a dynamic fuel cell is provided. A dynamic fuel cell has a membrane wherein a dimension of the membrane is variable during operation of the dynamic fuel cell in response to a control signal from an intelligent controller. By varying the dimension of the membrane, the output voltage of the dynamic fuel cell can be altered. An intelligent controller is provided that can measure a number of outputs and input parameters of the dynamic fuel cell and approximate input parameters using the measured values to adjust the input of the dynamic fuel cell to the approximated values.

Abstract: The present invention provides a fuel cell system and a startup and shutdown method therefor for avoiding carbon corrosion. The fuel cell system includes at least one fuel cell reaction module with at least one anode chamber to contain an anode reaction fluid. The method includes steps of: (a) executing a shutdown mode, (b) conducting and connecting a first load to the fuel cell reaction module so as to consume the anode reaction fluid remained in the anode chamber, (c) providing a buffer fluid to the anode chamber and disconnecting the first load from the anode chamber; (d) maintaining the fuel cell system shutdown, (e) executing a startup mode, (f) providing the anode reaction fluid to the anode chamber, and (g) conducting and connecting a second load to the fuel cell reaction module and maintaining the fuel cell system operated continuously.

Abstract: Provided is an apparatus for soft-sensing a fuel cell system. The apparatus includes: a connecting unit detachable from a control unit for being connected to an outside of a stationary fuel cell system; a collecting unit connected to the connecting unit and receiving data of the stationary fuel cell system; a quality variable predicting unit connected to the collecting unit and predicting a quality variable of the stationary fuel cell system based on the received data; and a monitoring unit connected to the quality variable predicting unit and outputting the predicted quality variable. The quality variable predicting unit is configured to predict the quality variable predictable including at least any one of a concentration of carbon monoxide in a reformed gas at a rear end of a fuel converting system, and a concentration of methane in the reformed gas at the rear end of the fuel converting system.

Abstract: A fuel cell system includes a supply channel having first channels respectively connected with tanks, and a second channel merged with each of the first channels; first on-off valves of the first channels; a second on-off valve of the second channel; and a controller configured to control opening and closing of the first on-off valves and the second on-off valve. Abstract: A vehicle which includes a fuel cell, a receptacle, a lid, and a fixing pin, and which stores a detection of the open state during a period from a time point of a latest end of operation of the vehicle to a time point of input acceptance of a start-up instruction. If a detection of an open state has been stored in a memory at a time point of input acceptance of a start-up instruction, then the vehicle executes a retry operation of temporarily moving the fixing pin of the fixed position to the released position and thereafter moving the fixing pin again to the fixed position during an operating period of the vehicle from the time point of input acceptance of the start-up instruction.
