    摘要: The mechanism for the acceleration of a projectile of a projectile loom has a torsion-bar launching mechanism (1) with a striker lever (3) which, at its end remote from the torsion bar (2), carries a striker piece (34) which, during launching, acts directly on an impact face (43) of the projectile (4). The projectile (4) for the loom has a casing formed of a hollow body and may be partially closed at the rear, as viewed in the direction of flight. The striker piece (34) can pivot on the striker lever (3) and has at least one striker face (33) which is aligned by an alignment member (5) so that at the instant just prior to triggering of the weft insertion the position of the striker face conforms to that of the impact face (43) of the projectile (4); that is, for example, the two are parallel. The transmitted impact energy is uniformly distributed over the impact face of the projectile (4), which advantageously reduces wear of the striker face ( 33) and impact face (43).

    摘要: In a measuring weft feeder for fluid jet looms, the continuity of the weft yarn from the feed spool or reel to the main nozzle of the loom is automatically restored by two compressed air devices acting on the weft yarn, the first of which--positioned at the inlet of the weft feeder, to withdraw therefrom the broken yarn and introduce therein new yarn fed by the spool or reel--comprises a first duct connected to the inlet of the weft feeder, along which duct there are positioned a clamp, a nozzle and a cutter. A second duct branches off from the first, close to its outlet into the weft feeder, which also comprises a nozzle, while the second device--positioned adjacent to the weft feeder drum, to receive the new yarn fed by the first device and by the winding arm and send it to a fixed point for feeding the main nozzle of the loom--comprises a curved profiled duct, which is either open or adapted to open longitudinally towards the drum and has an aerodynamic guide for the yarn. A third compressed air device can also be provided, to act on the weft yarn is sent from the second device so as to facilitate its feeding into the main loom nozzle, this third device also comprising a duct wherein acts a nozzle as well as an air outlet.

    摘要: An electromagnetic device is provided for use, for example, as a yarn brake, a rely nozzle valve, a weft yarn stretching nozzle and the like. The electromagnetic device has a pole piece associated with a winding connectable to an electric line. A spring strip is fixedly mounted at one end and projects over a curved abutment surface on the pole piece. In the absence of a magnetic field, the spring strip is disposed in spaced relation to the abutment surface. When a magnetic field builds up in the winding and the pole piece, the free end portion of the strip engages with the abutment surface of the pole piece along an increasing length, for example, to brake a yarn therebetween and, as the magnetic field intensifies, more and more zones of the spring strip engage the pole piece. Consequently, the initial speeds at which the strip moves at engagement and upon cessation of energization of the winding are relatively high.

    摘要: A fluid jet loom has a weft inserting nozzle and is equipped with a weft picking control system including means for measuring a weft picking time period for accomplishing a weft picking. The difference between the measured weft picking time period and a standard value in each weft picking is computed, and a plurality of such differences are accumulated to obtain an accumulated value. The accumulated value is compared with an allowable limit to judge as to whether the accumulated value exceeds the allowable limit or not. Upon judgement of the accumulated value exceeding the allowable limit, the air pressure to be supplied to the weft inserting nozzle is controllably changed to regulate the weft picking time period at a suitable value, thereby achieving an optimum weft picking control.

    摘要: The invention provides a novel loom and method for weaving fabrics in which at least the weft comprises stiff strands for example in the form of tapes or bands. The weft strand (41) is frictionally gripped at one side of the warp array (40) and intermittently pushed through the shed to insert successive lengths of weft. In a preferred modification, a hollow guide (22) is advanced through the shed in the opposite direction to the pushing of the weft strand, the free or previously severed end of the strand is pushed into the hollow guide, for example by friction wheel drive (3),(31) mounted on sley (13), and the guide is retracted in the same direction and at the same time as the strand is pushed through the shed, such that the free end of the weft is inside the guide while it passes through the shed. The invention is particularly valuable for weaving fabrics from stiff tapes of carbon and other high modulus fibre composites, which has not hitherto been practicable, but it can also be usefully employed with any stiff tape, band or strand of other cross-sectional profile.
