摘要: An electrochemical system includes a first stack, a first tank for storing high-pressure gas output from the first stack, a check valve disposed in a flow path connecting the first stack and the first tank, a first pressure sensor and a second pressure sensor connected respectively to the upstream and the downstream of the check valve, and a control unit. The control unit determines that an electrolyte membrane has been damaged when the pressure difference between the upstream and the downstream of the check valve exceeds a predetermined pressure.

摘要: To make it possible to detect whether leakage is external leakage or cross leakage in a water electrolyzer, a valve installed in an oxygen-side path, and a valve installed in a hydrogen-side path are closed; a water electrolysis reaction at a water electrolytic cell is progressed, and leakage in the oxygen-side path and leakage in the hydrogen-side path are determined based on the change in an internal pressure; and a differential pressure is made between the oxygen-side path and the hydrogen-side path, and leakage from a solid polymer electrolyte membrane is determined based on the change in the differential pressure.

摘要: A portable hydrogen-oxygen generator includes a housing having a detachable upper cover and a bottom cover. An electrolytic cell module is arranged in the housing. The electrolytic cell module has a hydrogen generation chamber and an oxygen generation chamber. A cathode electrode plate and an anode electrode plate are respectively arranged in the hydrogen generation chamber and the oxygen generation chamber, and the bottoms of the two generation chambers are communicated for electrolyte circulation. A hydrogen outlet part and an oxygen outlet part detachably arranged on the upper cover and respectively corresponding to the hydrogen generation chamber and the oxygen generation chamber. A filtering film for removing water is arranged between the hydrogen/oxygen outlet part and the electrolytic cell module. A power supply module is arranged on the bottom cover of the housing to supply electric energy to the cathode electrode plate and the anode electrode plate.

摘要: An electrolysis cell 20 includes: a cathode 31 to reduce a reducible gas; an anode 41 to oxidize an oxidizable substance in an electrolytic solution, the cathode 41 containing titanium; and a separator 50 separating the cathode 31 from the anode 41. The separator 50 includes a porous membrane. The porous membrane gives a pore size distribution defined by a graph having a horizontal axis and a vertical axis, the horizontal axis representing pore sizes of through holes of the porous membrane, the pore sizes being determined by using a porometer, the vertical axis representing a pore size flow distribution of pore volumes corresponding to the pore sizes, and the pore size distribution having a peak top in a range of not less than 0.01 μm nor more than 0.3 μm. The porous membrane has an ISO air permeance of not less than 0.8 μm/Pa·s nor more than 150 μm/Pa·s.

摘要: Provided is a method of controlling a load of a water electrolysis stack in which a plurality of water electrolysis cells including an anode disposed on one side and a cathode disposed on the other side with a solid polyelectrolyte film interposed are stacked and housed. The method includes determining an appropriate load based on a condition of an inside of the water electrolysis stack obtained from at least one of a temperature of the inside of the water electrolysis stack, an electrical resistance, or a water flow rate, and changing application of the load on the water electrolysis stack such that the load is the appropriate load.

摘要: A controller stops flow of posolyte through a positive electrode chamber of a flow cell to trap the posolyte within the positive electrode chamber and hydraulically isolate the flow cell without stopping flow of negolyte through a negative electrode chamber of the flow cell, discharges the flow cell until hydrogen gas is evolved at a reactive surface of the positive electrode chamber while the posolyte is trapped within the positive electrode chamber, and subsequently discontinues the discharge and restarts the flow of the posolyte through the positive electrode chamber.
