Abstract: A detecting method of a sheet detection device includes: generating, by a first magnetic sensing element, a first voltage signal corresponding to a magnetic element; generating, by a second magnetic sensing element, a second voltage signal corresponding to the magnetic element; determining, by a processing element, a first relative position of the magnetic element relative to the first magnetic sensing element according to the first voltage signal; determining, by the processing element, a second relative position of the magnetic element relative to the second magnetic sensing element according to the second voltage signal; determining, by the processing element, a stopping position of the magnetic element according to the first relative position and the second relative position; determining, by the processing element, a paper size of a paper abutted by a paper guide according to the stopping position. A sheet detection device is also disclosed.

Abstract: A media processing apparatus includes a slit insertable a sheet bundle of multiple sheets, a sheet-bundle holder, a liquid applier, a press binder, and a controller. The sheet-bundle holder holds the sheet bundle and detects the thickness of the sheet bundle. The liquid applier applies liquid to the sheet bundle. The press binder presses and binds the sheet bundle to perform press-binding process. The controller causes the sheet-bundle holder to hold the sheet bundle and detect the thickness of the sheet bundle, determines whether to cause the liquid applier to apply liquid to the sheet bundle based on the thickness of the sheet bundle, causes the liquid applier to apply the liquid to the sheet bundle when it is determined that the thickness of the sheet bundle is equal or larger than a prescribed thickness, and causes the press binder to press and bind the sheet bundle.

Abstract: A sheet stacker includes a tray to store a stack of sheets, a conveyor above the tray, a leading end guide above the tray, and an air exhaust. The conveyor conveys a sheet in a conveyance direction. The leading end guide is downstream from the conveyor in the conveyance direction. The leading end guide guides the sheet from the conveyor to the tray. The air exhaust exhausts air above an upper surface of the stack of sheets on the tray to an upstream from the tray in the conveyance direction. Further, the leading end guide holds a leading end of the sheet conveyed by the conveyor at a holding position and releases the leading end of the sheet at a release position downstream from the holding position in the conveyance direction.

Abstract: A sheet processing apparatus includes a folding unit, a fold reinforcing unit, and a control unit. The folding unit folds a sheet and forms a fold line thereon. The fold reinforcing unit includes a fold reinforcing roller. The fold reinforcing roller sandwiches the fold line on the sheet formed by the folding unit and moves in a fold-line direction in which the fold line extends. The control unit moves the fold reinforcing roller from a first position close to a first end of the fold line on a first side in the fold-line direction to a second position close to a second end of the fold line on a second side opposite to the first side. The control unit can execute, at this time, a division movement mode including a reversal return operation. The reversal return operation is an operation of reversing a movement direction of the fold reinforcing roller to the first side at a middle portion of the fold line and then returning the movement direction of the fold reinforcing roller to the second side.

The control device includes a detecting unit that detects arrival of paper sheets at a deceleration region, and, when paper sheets in the deceleration region are faster than a specific speed, the adjusting unit causes the air blowing device to generate an air flow in an opposite direction to that of an air flow for transporting the paper sheets.
