Wakeboat hull control systems are provided that can include a first accelerometer operatively associated with the hull of the wakeboat to measure the acceleration of the hull along a first axis; a second accelerometer operatively associated with the hull of the wakeboat to measure the acceleration of the hull along a second axis, the first axis being non-parallel to the second axis; and processing circuitry calculating the rotation of the hull of the wakeboat about a third axis based on the acquired measurements. Wakeboat hull control methods are provided that can include using the processing circuitry to calculate the rotation of the hull of the wakeboat about a third axis based on the acquired measurements.

A vehicle includes a keel having a support mount disposed proximate a bow end of the keel and a power plant disposed proximate an aft end of the keel, a support rotatably mounted to the keel at the support mount and supporting a cabin or equipment, a canard mounted to the keel, and an airfoil mounted to the support. The canard is adjustable to thereby adjust an amount of lift provided to the bow end of the keel, and the airfoil is adjustable to thereby adjust an amount of lift provided to the support.

The pontoon planer is a planer assembly for a pontoon boat that includes a pair of planer foils attached to the undersurface of the boat. Each foil presents a wedge-shaped profile, and a respective foil is disposed between the motor mount and a respective pontoon. The planers function to channel water in a downward direction to provide a lifting force to allow the pontoons to plane at lower speeds.

A high performance planing hull, designed in particular for boats with drives of fixed or non-steerable type. The hull comprises an additional volume, which is integrated in the immersed part of the stern of the hull. The additional volume extends substantially in longitudinal direction and is symmetrical with respect to the longitudinal plane of symmetry of the hull.

A versatile watercraft of the present invention comprises a base wing, a C-wing, and preferably a plurality of vertical stabilization knives. The base wing extends horizontally from the right side of the watercraft to the left side of the watercraft, and longitudinally, for at least a third of the length of the watercraft. The C-wing, extends above the base wing. The C-wing is comprised of at least two essentially vertical walls and an essentially horizontal top. The watercraft also comprises at least one propulsion device. In the preferred embodiments, a plurality of vertical stabilization knives extends vertically below the base wing and extends longitudinally for at least a third of the length of the watercraft.

A retractable-airfoil vessel has surface-effect wings (1) that are hinged or otherwise attached extendedly to a vessel (3). The surface-effect wings are extendable to a use mode in proximity to a surface of water (5) at sides (2) of the vessel for surface-effect lift of the vessel at elevated speeds. At low speeds when pleasure cruising or fishing, when stopped for water activities or when adjusting to rough waters and storm conditions, the surface-effect wings can provide wide-area buoyance on water at sides of a center of gravity of the vessel. The best of all worlds, it can be made to ride-out a storm as safely and securely as an anchored buoy and yet have high-speed efficiency, low-speed pleasure cruising and stopping for swimming and marine exploration. Then for docking in vessel slips and for maneuvering in close proximity to docks and harbor structures, the surface-effect wings can be retracted onto the vessel in a non-use mode for non-interference storage and for docked-living shelter.

A powered transportation vehicle uses hydro and aero pressure lift on flat bottom surfaces for providing increased efficiency of operation. An elongate hull has a bottom surface having a large length to width aspect ratio operates in water, with a smaller aspect ratio for a second lifting body operating substantially in air. Trailing edges of the bottom surfaces form a seal with water for creating stagnation areas for the water and air for providing lift to the vehicle having a center of lift of the hull forward the center of gravity of the vehicle. A forward portion of the hull bottom surface is upwardly angled from an aft portion as measured from the center of gravity.

The invention relates to a boat hull, in particular for high speed crafts, the underside of which has in at least one longitudinal section through or, respectively, parallel to the center plane a profile similar to the profile of an aircraft wing, the vertex of the longitudinal sectional profile, with respect to the bow-side end point of the chord of the longitudinal sectional profile, being positioned in the front half of the entire length of the chord. According to the invention there is provided that the chord (1) of the unloaded boat hull (2) includes an angle () with the horizontal plane defined by the water level (3) of 1.degree. to 3.degree., preferably of 1.5.degree. to 2.5.degree., in particular of 1.8.degree. to 2.2.degree., so that the stern-side end point (4) of the profile is positioned at the lower end point of the stern or, respectively, of the transom (5) below the water level (3).

A pleasure watercraft is provided which comprises a hull, sponsons, and support structures for the sponsons which have a shape of an airfoil. A cockpit for seating a pilot in the hull is located such that the distribution of mass elements in the craft positions the center of gravity of the craft within a select range along the longitudinal axis of the hull in substantially vertical alignment with seating position of the pilot, and preferably beneath the pilot. Hydrodynamic and aerodynamic forces acting on the craft as it accelerates converge within the select range to permit the pilot control of the attitude and roll of the craft.
