    Abstract: A thermal management system for at least one module of an electrically powered vehicle is disclosed. The thermal management system comprises a cooling chamber defined in the at least one module and receives a refrigerant therein for directly cooling at least one inner wall of the cooling chamber. A compressor is in flow communication with an outlet of the cooling chamber and compresses the refrigerant received from the cooling chamber. A condenser is in flow communication with an outlet of the compressor and discharges heat from the refrigerant received therein. An expansion valve is in flow communication with an outlet of the condenser at its inlet and in flow communication with an inlet of the cooling chamber at its outlet. The expansion valve controls a flow of refrigerant from the condenser to the cooling chamber to directly cool at least one inner wall of the cooling chamber is also disclosed.

    Abstract: A vehicle includes: a case; a power device accommodated in the case; and a cooling mechanism configured to introduce air in a passenger compartment of the vehicle into the case to cool the power device, the cooling mechanism includes an exhaust duct configured to allow the air to be discharged from the case, the exhaust duct includes a first duct portion connected to the case, a second duct portion fixed to a floor panel of the vehicle, and a plate-shaped coupling member coupling the first duct portion and the second duct portion, the second duct portion and the coupling member are fixed as defined herein, the fixing member is fitted in one of the through hole of the second duct portion or the through hole of the coupling member, and the other is longer than the one at least in a width direction of the vehicle.

    Abstract: A blower device includes a centrifugal fan that sucks air from one side of the blower device in an axial direction, and an air flow guide disposed between the centrifugal fan and the other side of the blower device in the axial direction. A first air flow from the centrifugal fan is bent toward the other side in the axial direction. A second air flow from the centrifugal fan is bent toward the other side in the axial direction, and then bent inward in the radial direction. A ratio of a pressure loss in the second air flow to a pressure loss in the first air flow before a downstream end of the air flow guide is smaller than a ratio of a pressure loss in the second air flow to a pressure loss in the first air flow before an upstream end of the air flow guide.

    Abstract: A cooling system includes a coolant transmitter that transmits coolant at a pressure greater than atmospheric pressure. The cooling system also includes an evaporation vessel at atmospheric pressure. The evaporation vessel can contain an amount of coolant at the boiling point of the coolant. The cooling system also includes a pressure reducer fluidically coupled to the coolant transmitter and the evaporation vessel. The pressure reducer can include an orifice. The cooling system is configured such that heat is transferred from the coolant in the coolant transmitter to the coolant contained in the evaporation vessel. An exit stream conduit can fluidically couple the coolant transmitter and the pressure reducer, with the exit stream conduit diverting a portion of the coolant from the coolant transmitter to the evaporation vessel.

The apparatus also includes external ports configured for connecting to an external charging source for charging the PCM; and fluid conduits defining fluid passageways interconnecting the external ports and the second PCM-embedded heat exchanger. The first PCM-embedded heat exchanger, pump, and cargo area heat exchanger form part of a first closed-loop circuit for transferring heat between the cargo area and the thermal battery system. The second PCM-embedded heat exchanger and external ports do not part of the first closed-loop circuit.

    Abstract: A high voltage fluid heater includes a housing that includes at least one of walls and openings along different sides of the housing to define at least one enclosure. The housing also includes an inlet and an outlet for fluid to flow into and out of the housing. The heater also includes a printed circuit board along a first plane along one side of the housing, a heating element controlled by the printed circuit board, a power transistor assembly including a plurality of power transistors, at least one thermal pad along a side wall of the housing, and at least one spring element. The fluid heater also includes a spring element adapted to be mounted on the housing.

    Abstract: A system for a vehicle includes an air conditioning system, a motorized directional air flow control feature, a display, and a controller configured to initiate a variable air flow routine. Initiation of the variable air flow routine prompts execution of a predetermined actuation sequence of the motorized directional air flow control feature such that the direction of air flowing from the air conditioning system into a cabin of the vehicle is varied sequentially by the motorized directional air flow control feature. Initiation of the variable air flow routine further prompts the display to display an air flow graphic having a directional quality that corresponds with the orientation of the motorized directional air flow control feature such that the directional quality of the air flow graphic varies sequentially with the direction of the air flowing from the air conditioning system.
