摘要: A cooling pad for a belt casting system includes a first nozzle arrangement and a second nozzle arrangement. In some embodiments, the first nozzle arrangement includes an elongated nozzle assembly that includes a base defining a receiving area, a first insert positionable within the receiving area, and a second insert positionable within the receiving area. The first insert and the base together define a first elongated dispensing slot. The second insert is adjustable relative to the first insert, and the second insert and the base together define a second elongated dispensing slot. In various embodiments, the second nozzle arrangement includes a plurality of multi-position nozzles, each movable between a base position and an offset position such that the heat transfer rate may be locally controlled across the cooling cavity.

The aluminum alloy products have a first surface comprising a width, wherein the first surface comprises an average of 50 exudates or less per square centimeter across the width of the first surface. Also provided herein are methods of making aluminum alloy products having improved surface characteristics. Further provided are methods and systems for manufacturing aluminum alloy products, such as sheets, having reduced surface defects.

摘要: A method and apparatus for manufacturing a flexible layer stack, and to a flexible layer stack. Implementations of the present disclosure particularly relate to a method and apparatus for coating flexible substrates with a low melting temperature metal or metal alloy. In one implementation, a method is provided. The method includes delivering a transfer liquid to a quenching surface of a rotating casting drum. The method further includes forming a material layer stack over the rotating casting drum by delivering a molten metal or molten metal alloy toward the quenching surface of the rotating casting drum. The method further includes transferring the material layer stack from the rotating casting drum to a continuous flexible substrate, wherein the quenching surface of the rotating casting drum is cooled to a temperature at which the layers of the material layer stack solidify.

摘要: An energy coupling device for coupling energy into molten metal. The energy coupling device includes a cavitation source which supplies energy through a cooling medium and through a receptor in contact with the molten metal. The cavitation source includes a probe disposed in a cooling channel. The probe has at least one injection port for injection of a cooling medium between a bottom of the probe and the receptor. The probe under operation produces cavitations in the cooling medium. The cavitations are directed through the cooling medium to the receptor.

摘要: A roller casting method produces a spiral structure, in particular a spiral structure for use in electric machines. Molten metal is supplied between a first roller and a second roller miming opposite thereto, wherein the first roller has first teeth, and the second roller has second teeth, said first and/or second teeth having tooth flanks with cavities for receiving the supplied molten metal. The teeth are designed and aligned such that the cavity of at least one tooth is at least temporarily delimited by the surface of a tooth of the other roller when the rollers are rotating such that the supplied molten metal is molded between the teeth while cooling and is molded into a section of the spiral structure.
