摘要:
Methods produce a three-dimensional dental block of material from a dental, polymerizable material. The methods include at least: transferring the polymerizable dental material into a radiolucent three-dimensional casting or press mold; irradiating the polymerizable dental material substantially from all sides with light in the UV/Vis spectral region forming polymerized outer surfaces of the dental material in the form of a solid outer shell of the dental material, wherein the shell is present in the defined three-dimensional geometry of the material whilst the inner region of the material is not polymerized or partially polymerized; heating the material with solid shell being present in defined three-dimensional geometry, to 60° C. to 150° C. for at least 90 minutes; and obtaining a dental, polymerized block of material having defined three-dimensional geometry.

The invention relates to a method for the production of blocks of material of a polymerized dental composite material as well as to the blocks of material obtainable according to the method, in which (i) a polymerisable dental composite material is transferred into a pressure-resistant casting mould (100), (ii) a pressure in the range of 10 to 500 MPa is applied to the polymerisable dental composite material in the pressure-resistant casting mould, and (iii) at least a part of the casting mould and/or the polymerisable material is heated in a defined manner to a temperature of 90 to 150° C.

An apparatus and method for producing a solid product such as orthopedic appliances, dental splint mouthpieces, dentures, lined dentures and the like from flowable materials such as silicones, acrylics, polyurethanes and dental casting investments. The container in which an article is treated will develop 80-100 psi and has opposed curved surfaces between which a seal is formed without leakage.

A method of making solid die dental models is provided, comprising preparing an impression of a dental structure and fabricating a dental model using said impression by depositing therein a flowable modeling material which self-sets under ambient conditions to a substantially solid elastomeric state. The flowable modeling material preferably has an initial viscosity of less than about 30,000 cps, and preferably sets to a substantially solid state in less than about an hour to provide a solid elastomeric state having a durometer hardness of at least about 60. The resulting dental model can be employed for construction of accurate and precise composite dental restorations.

Dental parts which are permanently installed in the mouth such as acrylic teeth or jackets, bridges, crown veneers, acrylic crowns, crowns with an acrylic face or coating, and other permanent dental restorations containing acrylic are produced quickly and without substantial distortion or breakage without the use of a dental flask. Rock plaster is formed into a nest-shaped piece. The nest may be a vertical nest or horizontal nest which has a generally centrally located hollow portion or cavity having an open top. A dental part, made of wax, may then be inserted into the cavity and pressed by hand into the surface of the rock plaster to make or form an impression of the wax part within the inside surface of the nest. After the rock plaster dries or cures, the wax may be melted and removed from the nest. Heat-curable acrylic may then be dripped or poured into the hollow portion of the nest where it covers and fills the impression left by the wax dental part. The heat-curable acrylic in the nest may be cured without the use of a dental flask by indirect heating. The nest containing the heat-curable acrylic is submerged in ambient water within an open-topped curing container. The open-topped curing container is submerged in preheated water so that the top of the curing container is above the level of preheated water. The preheated water is maintained at acrylic curing temperatures and pressures to indirectly heat and cure the dental part without scorching or distorting it.

A transparent, generally cylindrical, wide-mouth pressure retaining vessel or container cast of synthetic resin with a surrounding side wall formed by successively downwardly inset, annular wall segments, and externally reinforced by integral vertical ribs with successive annular edges of the inner stepped face providing support ledges adapted to hold removable shelves upon which freshly cast dentures, acrylic hobby items, pressure-curable art objects, etc. as well as fermentable foodstuff and gas-generating chemicals may be placed for exposure to externally applied and/or internally generated fluid pressure (gas or liquid). Necessity for retention clamps is eliminated by a threadedly mounted closure which carries a manually operable, threaded piston stem disposing a piston in an open-bottom chamber of the cover, which chamber projecting into a container full of liquid causes the latter to fill the piston chamber upon the cover being mounted on the container. This forms a hydraulic ram for application of pressure to objects immersed in the contained fluid. Air supplied under pressure through an inlet valve may be substituted in whole or part for liquid. The cover is reinforced by external spoke-like ribs and is recessed to form a catch basin to retain liquid spill from piston chamber bleed lines upon initial mounting of the cover.
摘要:
A method and apparatus useful for effecting the matrix-free polymerization of molded dental pieces under elevated temperature and pressure. The apparatus includes a hermetically sealable polymerization chamber into which the molded dental pieces are placed. The temperature is elevated within the chamber. The pressure is raised within the chamber after it has been hermetically sealed. A sufficient amount of water is supplied within the polymerization chamber to form an unsaturated water vapor atmosphere in the chamber while under increased temperature and pressure. After effecting polymerization for a predetermined amount of time, the chamber is exhausted while it remains hermetically sealed. Means is provided for effecting fluid flow into and out of the chamber while it is hermetically sealed.
