摘要: In a device for scanning films using at least one sensor with discrete light-sensitive elements, the light-sensitive elements of the sensor are randomly addressable for the read-out of video signals. Provision is made for an arrangement for addressing adapted to the imaging of the film on the sensor. In this case, the film may be imaged with the entire width on the sensor. Groups of pixels onto which in each case the filmed image, the perforation and, if appropriate, an optical sound track are imaged are addressed and read out separately.

摘要: A method of compressing digital images acquired in CFA format that utilizes optimized quantization matrices. The method, basing itself on the statistical characterization of the error introduced during the processing phase that precedes compression, appropriately modifies the coefficients of any initial quantization matrix, even of a standard type, obtaining a greater compression efficiency without introducing further quality losses.

摘要: The present invention provides for an optical scanning apparatus having a scanner body and a self-propelled light bar assembly supported within the scanner body. In one example the scanning apparatus further includes a drive track supported within the scanner body, and the light bar assembly includes a drive wheel in contact with the drive track. This configuration allows the drive wheel to propel the light bar assembly with respect to the scanner body. In a second example the scanner has a scanner body and a magnet-track portion of a linear electric motor fixedly supported within the scanner body. The light bar assembly includes a slider portion of a linear electric motor, and the light bar assembly is supported in the scanner body to place the magnet-track portion in proximity to the slider portion to thereby allow the light bar assembly to be driven along the magnet-track portion.

The array is digitally replicated using a digital camera to provide a visual image which is a printed, four colour, replica of the floor tiles. The replica, in A5 size on a foldable substrate such as paper, can be folded to A4 and taken by a prospective purchaser to a point of intended use, such as a home, where the visual effect of the tiles can be seen without the need to take an actual tile to the point of use.

摘要: An image forming apparatus includes a data processing device to process image information. A latent image forming device forms an electrostatic first latent image on a surface of a photoconductive element based on image data processed by the data processing device and forms an electrostatic second latent image on the photoconductive element. A developing device develops the first and second electrostatic latent with toner. The first latent image is transferred from the surface of the photoconductive element to a transfer sheet, and the transfer sheet is separated from the surface of the photoconductive element by a separation pick. And, the second latent image has a pattern not produced in a portion of the surface of the photoconductive element that corresponds to the separation pick.

摘要: A film scanner, such as a telecine, includes a light source, collection optics and one or more light sensors to reduce image signals representative of an image on film. In addition, a reflector arrangement is provided which has an internally reflective cavity, such as an integrating sphere, to captor light which may have been scattered from the usual light path and provided to an additional sensor. Compensations can thus be made for light scattered in any direction.
