    摘要: Receiving properties are greatly improved by varying and outputting an output voltage of I/Q signals, which correspond to an input level in a semiconductor integrated circuit device for baseband processing. When a portable terminals system reaches a training period after power is supplied thereto, a switch is turned on and another switch is turned off and a digital comparator compares an adjustment voltage outputted from an output-voltage adjustment circuit and a reference voltage of a baseband circuit to output comparison results thereof. A control circuit controls and adjusts, based on the comparison results, a voltage-controlled unit so that an adjustment voltage may become nearly equivalent to the reference voltage of the baseband circuit. Thereby the output level of the I signals (, Q signals) outputted from the RF processing unit is corrected, and the output levels of the I signals (, Q signals) are set to be equivalent to that of the reference voltage of the baseband circuit.

The receiver may also include a synthesizer to generate the first, second and third oscillation signals with half-integer frequency dividers based on a master reference signal.

    摘要: A radio frequency (RF) tuner includes a programmable tracking filter bank receiving an RF input and outputting a filtered RF signal. A mixer stage receives the filtered RF signal and outputs a first quadrature component of the filtered RF signal and a second quadrature component of the filtered RF signal. Two variable gain amplifiers receive the first and second quadrature components and output amplitude-controlled I and Q components of the filtered RF signal. In one embodiment, the programmable tracking filter bank includes a plurality of tank circuits each connected to the RF input through an impedance. Each tank circuit include an inductor and a capacitor connected in parallel thereby forming an LC network, and a plurality of switched capacitors in parallel with the LC network and switched in and out of the tank circuit by programmable switches. In another embodiment, the programmable tracking filter bank includes a plurality of peaked low-pass circuits each connected to the RF input through an impedance. Each peaked low-pass circuit includes a capacitor connected to ground, and a plurality of switched capacitors in parallel with the capacitor and switched in and out of the peaked low-pass circuit by programmable switches.

In both the transmitter and receiver, an input signal is coupled to each IQ-mixer and the output signal of the mixers are combined so as to cancel unwanted error components in each individual output signal. In the transmitter, residual carrier signals are cancelled, and in the receiver, DC-offsets are cancelled. In both, the wanted signals are added, doubling the amplitude of the resultant output signal leading to four times more output power and improved dynamic range.

In one embodiment, the method comprises using a voltage-controlled oscillator (nullVCXOnull) within a cellular telephone transceiver to generate a reference frequency signal for the GPS receiver. Circuitry within the telephone transceiver generates a frequency error signal. Both of these signals are coupled to GPS circuitry and used to control a carrier numerically controlled oscillator (nullNCOnull) and a code NCO. The NCOs produce a tuning signal and a timing signal, respectively. The GPS circuitry uses the NCO generated signals to process GPS signals.
