    摘要: The present invention provides an AC generator for use in a vehicle, which eliminates the need for metallic terminals, and which reduces the number of components and the number of man-hours needed for a connecting operation to thereby reduce the cost thereof and enhance the reliability thereof. Each of conductor wires of a stator winding has a circular cross section and also has an end portion at which a connection latch portion to be connected to a mounting seat of a rectifier is formed. The connection latch portion is constituted by deforming an end portion of each of the conductor wires like a plate and subsequently forming a cutout in the end portion deformed like a plate.

    摘要: An alternator includes an inner housing and an outer housing. A pair of o-rings positioned therebetween create a sealed flow chamber having a first flow channel, a second flow channel and an axial passageway. The first flow channel is a disk shaped cavity extending diametrically across the alternator. The second flow channel forms an annular jacket extending entirely around the alternator. The axial passageway directs coolant axially from the first flow channel into the second flow channel. An inlet positioned diametrically across from the axial passageway allows coolant to enter the first flow channel, such that coolant entering the inlet must flow diametrically across the alternator to reach the axial passageway. An outlet positioned diametrically across from the axial passageway allows coolant to exit the flow chamber, such that coolant entering the second flow channel must travel annularly around the alternator to reach the outlet.

    摘要: In an alternator, a pole core has a plurality of claw-pole pieces, and a cooling fan has a plurality of diagonal-flow-type blades and a plurality of centrifugal-flow-type blades. A combination of numbers of the claw-pole pieces and the diagonal-flow-type blades is determined to suppress an interference of wind noises caused by the claw-pole pieces and the diagonal-flow-type blades during operation, such that one of the numbers of the claw-pole pieces and the diagonal-flow-type blades is not divisible by the other and both numbers have no common divisor other than one. Further, a number of the centrifugal-flow-type blades is determined not to be divisible by the numbers of the diagonal-flow-type blades and the claw-pole pieces, and all the three numbers have no common divisor other than one.

With this construction, there can be provided a small automotive alternator which has a high output and an excellent cost performance and in which fans generate a low level of noise.

The arrangement is such that a case is composed of a pair of opposing brackets having exhaust port ribs, defining a plurality of exhaust ports and intake port ribs disposed inner side of said exhaust ports and defining a plurality of intake ports, that exhaust port ribs of at least one of the brackets are tilted from 20° to 50° in the direction of rotation of the rotor with respect to the radial direction of the rotor and that the rib thickness of the exhaust port ribs in the normal plane of the tilt direction of the exhaust port ribs are equal to or less than 50% of the exhaust port width.

    摘要: A motor cover arrangement for covering a cooling fan of a motor enclosed in a motor case, wherein the motor cover arrangement includes a cooling fan cover and an air intake hood. The cooling fan cover has an open outlet end mounted on the motor case and an inlet end extended from the motor case to define a fan cavity to dispose the cooling fan therein and an air inlet opening in front of the cooling fan. The outlet end of the cooling fan cover defines an air discharge slot between the outlet end and the motor case to communicate with the air inlet opening. The air intake hood includes a base shell integrally covering the air inlet opening of the cooling fan cover and an air intake shell extended from the base shell to a side portion of the cooling fan cover to provide an air intake window so as to form an air intake passage between the air intake window positioned at the side portion of the cooling fan cover and the air inlet opening of the cooling fan cover. Thereby, fresh air can be sucked by the rotating cooling fan from outside via the air intake window, the air intake passage and the air inlet opening to cool down the motor and be discharged through the air discharge slot, so as to increase both the air sucking effect and cooling effect.
