Abstract:
An antenna system for use in processing of livestock carcasses including in combination, antenna means adapted to transmit and receive signals from transponders in or on carcasses moving on a conveyer system, support means adapted to support the antenna, pivoting means adapted to enable the antenna to pivot on the support means as each carcass comes into contact with the antenna, wherein in operation, the pivoting action enables a wiping contact to be maintained between the antenna and a carcass sufficient to obtain a positive reading of the transponder irrespective of a rotational and/or angular displacement of the carcass about a vertical axis without causing dislodgement of the carcass from the conveyer system or bruising of the carcass.
Abstract:
A vehicle-mounted apparatus includes a radio frequency identification (RFID) reading unit for reading an RFID signal from an RFID tag attached to an article placed in a vehicle, a system controller for determining the nature of the article in the vehicle on the basis of the read RFID signal, and an user interface unit for outputting the nature. The system controller determines whether the article placed in the vehicle is dangerous or not. If the article is determined to be dangerous, the system controller outputs information for warning a user via the user interface unit.
Abstract:
A state where a seal is stuck to an article is detected, and an unauthorized takeout is prevented. A stuck state detection seal comprises a sealing base member to be stuck to the article N and a sealing surface member to be stuck to the sealing base member overlapped thereon. Between the sealing members, there are provided stuck state detection means for detecting a stuck state between the two and an RF unit that transmits a detected stuck state signal and transmits/receives a takeout state signal of the article N. In the store are provided passage reception antennas for receiving the stuck state signal transmitted from the RF unit, gate reception antennas for receiving reading state signal transmitted from a bar code reader through the RF unit, and a store control unit for judging whether the takeout of the article N be permitted based on the reading state signal.
Abstract:
The present invention provides an electronic control unit, and particularly provides a storage battery that includes a burglary prevention device for storage battery loading equipment and for the storage battery loaded onto the storage battery loading equipment. The burglary prevention device includes a burglary sensor for detecting a burglar, and a burglary prevention signal output unit for outputting a signal that prevents the burglary when the burglary sensor detects the burglary.
Abstract:
Characterizing a cargo container and its contents. A system comprising an emitter to emit radio frequency (RF) energy, a receiver to receive an RF response related to the energy, and a processor operative to compare a plurality of RF responses. A method for characterizing a cargo container and its contents, the method including providing a system as described above, via the system: emitting a RF energy within a container, receiving an RF response of the container and the container contents, emitting a second RF energy within a container, receiving a second RF response of the container and the container contents, and comparing the second RF response with the first RF response.
Abstract:
An integrated system for tracking assets (tools and materials) and personnel associated with a work site. Personnel are equipped with tracking devices having at least geolocation capability. Assets are tagged with RFID tags, which are interrogated at portals, by mobile scanners, or by personnel tracking devices having RFID reading capability. The tag readers and tracking devices are all in communication with a common nullinformation backbonenull and all data is delivered to, and processed by, a common command and control subsystem.
Abstract:
A transceiver preferably embedded within a wearable security watch, PDA, or other device which achieves a variety of wireless ultrasonic and/or radio-frequency based functions, including digital identification and proximity and sensation monitoring of assets, individuals, pets, and the like. The portable or wearable device realizes these functions by periodically polling and receiving information tags within the transmitting distance of the device. The invention can help reduce the likelihood of the theft, loss, or misplacement by detecting that a tag associated with or attached to an entity has left an individual's proximity and sounding an alarm. The device can also assist individuals with sensory impairments, including persons who are deaf, diabetic, and the like, by detecting a tagged entity as it enters the space around an individual, or by detecting environmental stimuli, such as excessive heat in an individual's proximity or vital sign changes, and sounding an alarm.
Abstract:
A system and method for monitoring a facility is provided. Generally, the system comprises monitoring tags wherein each monitoring tag emits an identifier signal unique to each monitoring tag, monitoring sensors wherein the monitoring sensors receive signals from the monitoring tags and relay the signals to one or more monitoring stations, and monitoring stations wherein the monitoring stations log and display information associated with the signals received. The monitoring station identifies possible events based on the signals received from the monitoring sensors. The monitoring station alerts staff members of the events via a graphical user interface, pagers, email, and alarms.
Abstract:
