摘要: Handheld tools are provided for removing a wire from within an optical cable. For example, the handheld tool may be used to remove a copper wire from a fiber optic drop cable in an efficient manner without damaging other components of the fiber optic drop cable. Advantageously, the optical cable may be used immediately after the wire is removed without further steps by the technician, such as re-applying an outer protective sleeve, as is commonly required with known tools.

摘要: A gradual fiber cladding light stripper and its manufacturing method is disclosed to include an optical fiber that has a core, a cladding outside the core and an outer coating outside the cladding, the outer coating being removed by a preset cutting fixture to form a pre-stripping section, and a recoating section coated on the surface of the pre-stripping section at one time with a covering glue, the covering glue being irradiated and cured through a preset light curing device to form the recoating section with a gradual light stripping rate. The recoating section has a laser light input terminal with a relatively lower light stripping rate, and a laser light output terminal with a relatively higher light stripping rate.

摘要: A stripping tool configured to sequentially strip the layers of a cable, such as a fiber optic cable. The stripping tool includes multiple channels, each with a distinct role in stripping a layer of the fiber optic tool. The user sequentially moves the cable from channel-to-channel while operating the tool. At the conclusion of these operations the cable is appropriately stripped and ready for a subsequent operation.

摘要: A cable stripping tool for stripping the outer jacket of a cable having a length. The tool includes a tool frame having an elongated opening and a cable support disposed on the tool frame including at least one support surface for maintaining the cable in a relative position on the tool. The tool includes a roller assembly having an offset block movable along the elongated opening, a roller wheel rotatingly attached to an end of the block member adjacent the cable support and a loading knob attached to an opposite end of the offset block as the roller wheel. The tool includes a blade having a cutting edge extendable from the cable support surface toward the cable. The blade cutting edge may be rotatable between a first direction parallel to the cable length, a third direction perpendicular to the cable length and a second position between the first and third position.
