Abstract: An automatic milk counter of a milking unit in which a programming unit and a yield sensor of each quarter of the cow's udder is made as a microprocessor device wherein a milking timer is provided with a sensitive element while each continuous milk flow receiving chamber includes a milk flow start and end sensor comprising a float with a magnet which enables the float to engage in reciprocating motion along an air drawoff pipe during the filling of a continuous milk flow receiving chamber. A drain hole is provided in the chamber which has a cross-sectional area corresponding to the milk flow rate at the milk flow start and end moments of each quarter of the cow's udder.

Abstract: A continuous weighing mechanism, which contains a fluid receiver mounted upon a rocker shaft, said receiver and a portion of said rocker shaft contained within a housing which is supported by a frame, and a fluid flow indicating device, for use with a conduit system wherein a fluid material is moved and is weighed by said mechanism, said device comprising (a) a magnet which is adapted to be detachably connected to said rocker shaft on that portion thereof which is outside said housing; (b) an electromechanical switch which is adapted to be mounted on said frame, said switch being in electromagnetic relationship with said magnet so that movement of said magnet can activate said switch; (c) a control module containing input and output circuits, disposed remotely from said switch and interconnected therewith by suitable electrically conductive means, said control module adapted to receive a signal from said switch through said input circuit and upon preset circuitry conditions, activate an outside electrical power supply through the said output circuit.

Abstract: There is disclosed a valve unit for a liquid flow sensing device of the type having a control means which is movable between first and second positions when the flow rate is respectively low and high but biased to the first position. The valve unit comprises three valve sections one of which is movable in response to movement of the control means a second of which is fixed relative to the control means and a third which is movable independently of the other two sections. The valve includes first and second ports, port connecting means, a flow passage and a diaphragm which forms part of the chamber and can close said flow passage. The third valve section can be moved so that the first port is isolated from the second port but coupled to the chamber when the control means is in the first position and moves to the second position. Means are provided for coupling the third valve section to the first valve section such that when the control means reverts to the first position it moves both the first and third sections relative to the second section such that the first port becomes coupled to the second port by the port connecting means and the first port is isolated from the chamber. There is also disclosed a liquid flow sensing device incorporating the valve unit.
